Friday Funnies

Mommy and my beloved Ball Guy did a little comic strip of Samson and I that they think is funny (The Ball Guy did all the drawing). I find it hard to understand how our real life drama is amusing...but we'll indulge them.

You may have to click the strip to make it easier to see. Mommy can't figure out how to post it at full-size.

Have a great weekend!

Beaufort Community Cat Project

When we started receiving our allowance, I was under the impression that $5.00 could buy me at least 20 bags of treats and some other stuff on the side! Unfortunately, that is not true, but Mommy told us that if we saved our allowance, it would grow bigger. Deli and I have ours since last week and it's still $5.00 each! Mommy said it'll grow tomorrow and we can use our allowance for tomorrow, today, so we decided to pool all of that together and now we have a total of $21.00 (Deli only spent 4 dollars the first week so she has an extra dollar)! We checked out some things online, and because I received so many toys for my birthday, we decided that we are very lucky cats so we're going to donate our money to some kitties who need it more than us.

This time we choose the Beaufort Community Cat Project (BCCP) to donate to. They do TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) which we think is the most effective way to humanely reduce the population of feral/stray cats. Dana, the Creek Cats' Mommy, volunteers for them and she really helps out so many kitties all the time! Our Mom follows them on Facebook and she gets updates about all the kitties they help. Since their inception in mid 2006, they've performed almost 230 spay/neuters and so far this year it's almost 60! They also set up feeding stations for the kitties.

Here are some pictures of the colony cats that the BCCP has helped.

This is Dana releasing a cat after sterilization

Thank you for helping so many cats, Dana! We know our donation is not much, but we hope that it'll help. We hope to grow some more money in the future to help out again!

To read more about what they do and/or donate, you can visit their website at www.beaufortcats.org

Tortie Tuesday

My little brother Samson turned 3 yesterday and, since Tortie Tuesdays are all mine, he asked me to thank everyone for the birthday wishes!

Wanna know what the best part about his birthday was? Well, Samson may be young, but he's a little lazy. He gets pooped easily and there were SO many toys to play with. I am very active and I'll play until I fall over from exhaustion!

As soon as Samson would take a break, that's when I took over.

Jane and Alice, you were right. I love the ball!

The skulls are great too!

Oh, look at this! There's that fat penguin all by himself!

I think I'll but the bitey on him...

The Casbah Kittens make great toys. They are made really well and can even hold up in the face of a vicious Tortie attack!

P.S. I just found out that Tasha's brother Franklin has bronchitis, so please send some purrs over to make sure he gets better soon!

Samson is Three!

I'm three years old just like Delilah and Mommy (except Mommy has a 4 in front of her 3)!!

We had such a party!

Thank you Ann from Zoolatry for making me this really nice graphic to help me celebrate

First I'll start with my gifts

Jane and Alice from The Casbah Kitten sent me this amazing fat penguin!

Thank you, girls! I LOVE it!

Mischa and Pasha gave me this cool furry snake and treats! Thank you!

Deli got me these skulls! She wanted me to open the package right away so we could play together!

Mommy got me the big pickle!

Guess what The Ball Guy bought me? Yep, a ball. I should of figured that.

I'm the luckiest cat in the world! I hope I turn 3 again next year.

I have so many toys, I don't know where to start!

Whimpurr from Whimpurr's Whim (where that pretty Miss Annie lives) sent me this nice badge

All my friends are welcome to come by for treats and toys! Being 3 is awesome!

We've got the Plague!

A few weeks ago, we received our package from Baby Patches' store, Supplies Just 4 Pets.

We love our things! We got plague rats and honeysuckle toys and Baby Patches threw in some special treats for us. Thank you Baby Patches!

Here I am showing the plague rat who's boss!

Delilah really loved that honeysuckle mousie!

Baby Patches has a lot of stuff in her store that we want and now that we have allowance, we can order ourselves!

Have a great Sunday!

Pretty Girls

Those adorable little girl kittens that live with Mommy's friend Jenn, sent over a package for Samson for his birthday on Monday.

And the gorgeous Jane and Alice from The Casbah Kitten sent this for him (I think it kinda looks like him!).

With all these pretty girls paying attention to Samson, maybe I should pretty myself up a tad.

No, that's not green in my eyes, it was the reflection!

Fuzzy Friday

No, we haven't gotten into the nip too early! We got this idea from our friends, Franklin, Dobby and Tasha over at Mishkat. They had a post with blurry close-ups. You can see that post if you click here

We thought it would be fun to to show some of the fuzzy photos and outtakes that didn't quite make the grade and that Mom just couldn't delete. She has hundreds, but here are a few of her favorites.

We're gearing up for Samson's birthday weekend and his birthday on Monday so we're very excited! Mommy whispered to me that the stuff we ordered from Casbah Kitten for Sammy's birthday arrived today just in time. I was worried I waited too long to order; thankfully they ship really fast! Jane and Alice even included a gift for Samson from them! They are so sweet! We can't show you the pictures yet because Samson might check out the blog before then, but I promise you'll see all the cool stuff on Monday!

Have a good weekend!

Mommy's Tagged

Fin's Mom Meg tagged our Mommy with a game. We swore we wouldn't let her blog again for awhile, but when Fin speaks, we listen (she's so floofy cute). Take it away, Mommy!

Here are the rules:

Either (1) post 7 facts about yourself AND photos OR (2) post 10 facts about yourself with no photos, OR (3) post a childhood picture of yourself.

Well, I'm going for the first one, but the photo is 5 or 6 years old from when I used to work as a rental agent for musician and artist lofts. A lot of the tenants had pets, so I was the 'crazy pet lady' of the building and kept plenty of treats on hand. Some of the tenants told me that their dogs wouldn't go back to their loft until they'd visited me in the office after their walks. These were my favorite tenants, Max and Nipper. (Max is the German Shepherd and Nipper is the fluffy terrier/poodle mix)

This is Teddy the boxer and I. Behind me was the 'Wall of Pets' on the office refrigerator. I asked all of the tenants to bring me pictures of their cats and dogs.

I'm not posting any recent photos, only because I've put on weight since then and I avoid the camera like the plague. I realize it's vain and that it doesn't really matter, but I'm just not comfortable. I am losing weight again, and I blame the initial weight gain on the first of my 'Facts about me'.

1. I had been living with mild to severe iron deficiency for close to 9 years. It contributed to a lot of problems like severe fatigue, headaches, loss of mental sharpness, hair loss, weight gain (from lack of exercise) and just plain laziness. Since I recently had surgery that eliminated the iron problem, I'm amazed that I let it go on that long. I feel like a new woman and my brain actually functions properly again. Also, my hair is growing thicker and I have much more energy.

2. I currently work as a salesperson for animation software. I deal mostly with educational sales and I love speaking to teachers.

3. I am 43 years old and I have never been married (engaged once, but I backed out just in time!) and I've never had any children. My sister and brother have 3 and 4 children respectively, so my mother never hassled me to have kids (which was wonderful). She refers to Samson and Delilah as her grandchildren without even blinking. My Mom is the best.

4. I can't punctuate to save my life. I can spell well, but commas and semi-colons just confuse me. If my posts are punctuated properly, it's either a fluke, or I asked The Ball Guy (Brad) to help me out. I'm sure you all have noticed the inappropriate use or lack of punctuation.

5. I was born in Toronto, Ontario and moved to Montreal with my mother, sister and brother when I was in my teens. I plan to move back to Ontario, but not Toronto. I am leaning towards London, Ontario this time. My dream is to have a very small farm with cats, dogs and chickens on the outskirts of London. Of course, the chickens will have to be protected from Delilah but Samson will likely just make friends with them.

6. I'm terrified of confined spaces and spiders (actually, most bugs). All of the cats and dogs I've had have learned early that they must get rid of any bugs right away! If there is more than 3 people in an elevator, I'll take the stairs.

7. The furthest I've traveled was to Sydney, Australia for the 2000 Olympics. I loved it! The people are wonderful and the city was beautiful.

8. (Bonus fact because it's not about me) Brad is called The Ball Guy simply because he plays fetch with Delilah.

Just because it's funny, I'm posting this photo of me with my sister and brother at a petting zoo when we were kids. I always get a kick out of the knee socks! (I'm in the middle)

I'm tagging the following people:

The Mommy at JewelGirls Katz

Angel and Kirby's Mom

Loki's Nanny

Tommy, Noir's Mom

You'll need to get permission from your pets first, of course...

Tortie Tuesday

I'm here to talk about the importance of keeping dangerous things off the floor when you have cats around.

I have on my stern face because this is directed at Mommy, specifically. Even though I'm posing with my favorite fishie, I can't help but be mad at her right now!

Perhaps I should go a little easier on her because she's had a migraine for the last two days, but there's no excuse for this kind of carelessness! If you biggify these photos, you'll notice a little brown pill in the background.

She only noticed the pill after she uploaded the photos a few hours later! And then she couldn't find it right away so she was very worried.

I can't speak her silly language but I tried to hint at it by posing in a way that would show her what could happen to a cat if they ate the pill (yes, I need a brushing but that is not the message I was trying to convey).

She's lucky I'm smart, but can you imagine what would happen if a less astute cat came along and thought that was a treat? I'm not naming names, but he's black and white, extremely amorous and always looking for stuff to eat.

Mommy eventually found the pill, and I think she's learned her lesson. She's still got a headache and I think I've done enough berating for today, so I'm going to go lie down with her and help the headache monster to go away with some soft purring and a claw massage.

Oh, and exciting news! We won a giveaway that our buddies The Creek Cats were hosting! Along with The Kool Kitty Krew (not to be confused with The Kitty Krew), we won some Clean and Green products! I wonder if they have something that will remind Mommy to pick up headache pills that she drops on the floor!

Mancat Monday

Ever since I was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis, Mommy has been very careful about creating a relaxed environment when I eat. Most of the time, she monitors Deli and I and we eat together, but I also get special alone time with Mommy and a plate of food in another room. I hate to admit it, but I really love eating in peace without Delilah snorting in the background. I love it so much that I really relax and get into it.

Look at the foods on my face! I was so calm that I forgot to clean myself...(you may have to biggify the picture to see all the stains!)

Does it make me look tougher?

I'm usually very fastidious so suddenly I'm a little embarrassed that I let myself go like this.

Enough pictures now, Mom. Let's change the subject...what're Tristan and Crikey doing today?

Lazy Sunday

One of my many duties around here is to help out with laundry. I think I was elected as a helper because of my love of dirty clothes!

Mommy is taking her time and being lazy today, but I'm here to remind her that it needs to be done!

Actually, this is very comfy. Maybe we should put it off for a bit longer...
