Mancat Monday

Santa is coming to town in a few days, and I'm worried that he's going to skip our house!

I've been very good. In fact, I think this year is my best chance for getting on the 'nice' list. It's the girls in my life that I'm concerned about.

Deli has definitely been naughty. I've tried to gently urge her to clean up her act before the big man comes to town, but she just whaps me. One look at her and Santa is going to run screaming!

Sweet Pea has not been much better. I realize she's still a kitten, and this is her first Christmas ever, but look what she did to The Ball Guy's arm! If you biggify it, you can see the puncture wounds as well as the slash wounds!

He was laughing when he showed Mommy, but I know if I did that, it'd be straight to the naughty list for me.

Delilah and Sweet Pea are Torties, and Mommy says that Santa understands tortitude, so maybe they won't scare him away just being themselves. Mommy, on the other hand, is NOT a tortie, and she is the worst of all the girls around here! She hasn't put one stitch of Christmas decoration up, and says she won't either. She has to work during the holidays (from home) and she said she just doesn't have the time.

Here's a recent picture of Mommy:

I guess it's up to me to save Christmas, so I've come up with a plan. Mommy says that children, doggies and kitties usually leave out sugar cookies and milk on Christmas Eve, because Santa has a lot of work to do and needs some nourishment for energy. I've decided to leave him treats and a mousie instead. These treats are full of protein, and instead of a quick sugar rush, he'll have more energy for the long haul. The mousie is, well, no explanation needed. Everyone loves mousies. And who wants sugar cookies when you can have freeze-dried beef liver and chicken??? Not Santa, I'm sure.

I'm also going to leave out stockings. Since we have no tree or Christmas decorations this year, at least Santa will have a place to put the gifts. The little one is Sweet Pea's because she's so small so she will probably get tiny gifts too!

If any of you 'nice' kitties have any other suggestions to lure Santa, I would love to hear them. I'm working with some very naughty housemates here, and I need all the help I can get!

Samson

P.S. We were so sad to hear about our friend Callie leaving last week. We are sending purrs to her family in this hard time. Delilah is going to dedicate her Tortie Tuesday tomorrow to her tortie friend.

No decorations! Mommy cant stand not putting up decorations she has to have them all the way to january! As for luring the big man....you should sleep in the living room but dont wake up and look at him! Just seeing your sweet self sleeping will make him leave the whole bag of goodies!

We really like that nice picture of your Mom!!

You may want to make sure our Ferris doesn't sneak in to your house and eat all of those freeze-dried treats! He completely devoured ours!
Oh and we are glad to hear that Santa Claws takes tortitude into consideration because of Maggie May. She is packed with tortitude!

Samson, we agree...those tortie cats can be such trouble! We don't know if Santa Claws is gonna bring Zoey anything this year...

We like thta you decided to decorate a little even if your mom won't...

I'm pretty sure that Santa does take tortitude into consideration. We have our stockings hung, but our big planner is Jonesie. Her strategy is to leave goodies out in the garden for Santa and all the reindeer. They will have to stop and rest, so she's pretty sure they will stop in our yard which means presents will be dropped off too.

We thinks Santa will be impressed with your thoughtfulness. Loved the picture of your Mom. We are in the same boat here and we thinks your Mom looks a lot like ours. Although our Mom is green because she has vertigo and not because she is busy and we did get our Daddy to put up the tree. ~Socks

We think your preparations are perfect. The only thing we can think of is singing and lots of it.
And when he does visit you, you will probably get more presents than any other kitty, to compensate the lack of tree. (Cats without trees make us so sad.)

We think that you should leave a warm blankie out for Santa. He may need a nap between house visits.

Santa will find ALL of you! This year, we're luring him to our house with wings and beer, and a side of milk and cookies!

I live with a tortie and I'm surprised they don't ALL get lumps of coals for Christmas - they are VERY ill behaved! So I think your idea of leaving out treats and a mousie for Santa is a great idea! You need the extra special ammo to stand out with all that tortitude in your house.

That's a very good plan, Samson! Maybe if you put a ham in the oven, the wonderful smells might attract Santa, too! Everyone loves, ham, right? Just like everyone loves mousies. Don't know about the liver and chicken kibbles though, you might want to rethink that one.

Santa is sure to visit you because he knows how good you are. We have heard also that he makes allowances for torties. He is sure to enjoy those treats and mousies.

I think I saw your mommie on a tv show this last week. I didn't know you had a famous mom.
I think Santa will come to your house, don't worry little one. He will know that you have been good and your siblings were trying.

Samson, you're the mancat and you will save Christmas for sure. I think Santa is Canadian, and it's very cool in Canada. So to keep him warm, he might appreciate if you provide him with beers... Tell your Mommy that we are sorry that she has to work and also tell her, she looks really cute but she might scare Santa!

I don't think you need worry. Santa knows efurryone has been good, so all the stockings will be filled like magic on Christmas Eve...

Don't worry guys!!! Santa has a super kitty radar and knows where all the kitties live ;) He tends to be generous with kitties whose Moms are too busy/not decorating/too tired/ etc!! heehee
Now that we got our snow, it's warming up a bit and is a bit drizzly during the day. (last week was COLD)Mom says we should send our snow to Alberta!!! Maybe BC as the will need it soon ;) heehee
We're not sure Santa will give her anything for those thoughts!!

We're glad that Santa understands Tortitude since we have our share of that around here too. We're pretty sure that you are on the nice list though Samson since you have to put up with all that Tortitude all year long!

Sweet Pea's little bitty claws are like needles it seems! And we hope your mommy doesn't have to work too much over the holidays but at least she gets to work from home with you!

Tommy didn't decorate either--something about sure she'd find the tree down and ornaments everywhere in the house, once she got home...yea, sure--whatever..but, Samson, I STILL think Santa will find us...

Santa knows all. He know you are trying extra hard and will be sure to fill your stocking.

Oh Samson, I could use your help over here too. Mom is in No Mood, and has to be on-call for Chrismouse too. I am planning to be extra good to make up for her. I mean I'm not going to share my gifts, she needs her own.

GLOGIRLY said...

Samson,
It sure sounds like you've got all the important details covered. Santa will understand and he will find you, rest assured. You've obviously been nice enough to make up for all your housemate's naughtiness.

Our Mom is just as pathetic as your Mom. Whoops! Maybe that comment will get me on the Naughty List, for sure. The least they could have done was to buy one of those itty bitty decorated trees, don't you think? ~Tristan
