Tortie Tuesday

We have just adopted Bella, but there are even more Torties in our household than I thought!

I was just having a snooze when I saw this strikingly beautiful Tortie hanging out right near me.

I don't know who she is, but by the looks of her, she is a strong one.

I hope she understands that I'm the boss here. I don't want to have to tackle her!

P.S. Our friends over at Mishkat are in need of purrs for their cousin, Blackie, who is having surgery today for his tooth. Please join us in some positive thoughts and purrs for him!

Mancat Monday

We have been absent for a few posts because Mommy says she was busy, busy. I guess I'll forgive her...as long as she doesn't make a habit out of it!

Both Bella and I have a vet appointment on Thursday night. Mommy found that the little sores on my head are also on various parts of my body and that I have been scratching and grooming excessively. She also found a little soft, movable lump on Bella's tummy flap, which she's concerned about. When she called the place that rescued Bella to see if their vet had seen that before, they told her she could bring her to their vet to be examined because she was still officially being fostered. Mommy said it was time to make it an official adoption and that she would take Bella to our vet. I guess that means we are stuck with her!

Gerdy, from Gerdy's Rescue said that because of Bella's age, they are going to waive the adoption fee and call it a 'compassionate placement'. All we have to do now is sign the papers and Bella is ours forever. We'll definitely have to use our allowance to donate to that nice rescue!

Since I'm a gallant Mancat, I'll go with Bella to make sure she's not scared and introduce her to our favorite people at The Animal Health Clinic (the girls at the reception give the BEST scritches). If they can happen to find out why I'm so itchy while I'm there, all the better.

Tortie Tuesday

This week has been dubbed 'Scofflaw Week' by our very good friend Fin from Housecat Confidential

I am constantly accused of breaking the rules by Mommy but the evidence she has is purely circumstantial.

You can see the surprise in my face with this mugshot. Really, I shouldn't be shocked anymore. Her precious Samson can do no wrong, and Bella had her claws removed by her previous owner so there is no way she could have been involved in the following incidents.

Somecat broke through our new cat cube. Mommy claims that she saw me break through it right in front of her eyes. She must need glasses because I would never harm my favorite toy.

The witness (Mommy) claims that it was like a scene out of an old Kool-Aid TV commercial. I allegedly burst through the wall of the cat cube yelling 'Ohhh Yeahhh'. This kind of gross exaggeration is typical of a witness who has likely dreamt the whole thing!

The next crime was also not me, but Somecat poked holes in Mommy's new curtain with their claws. Samson and Sweet Pea both have their claws, yet I'm accused of putting holes in it just because I spend a lot of time grooming behind that curtain!

I am being falsely accused, but if Mommy is going to blame me for every catcrime in this house, I may as well make it worthwhile...

I've got the car keys! Let's go for a joy ride!

Mancat Monday

This week the lovely Fin is hosting Scofflaw Week. As much as I hate to disappoint the gorgeous cougar, I am just too well-behaved and I have nothing to contribute. I'll have to rely on my naughty Tortie girls to do a Scafflaw post.

Mommy was concerned because she found another sore on my head right next to my ear (the last one was at the beginning of July). It's pretty small and you may have to click on the picture to actually see it, but she's Mommy, so that means she worries. She is still not sure where I'm getting them, but since I have had stress-related problems in the past, she wants to keep an eye on them.

She's pretty sure it's not from Delilah, although we do play rough sometimes, so she trimmed my nails and is hoping it's not a result of scratching from an allergy or something.

I think she worries too much!

Finally Friday

It's been another busy week for our Mommy at work, so she is really looking forward to relaxing on the weekend. Tonight she has some people coming over for drinks. I told her that we will need another water fountain, but she assured me that they would be drinking out of their own funny-shaped glasses and that they wouldn't be drinking water!

I don't really mind so much when they drink their liquid catnip because after a few of those glasses, the girls get giggly and want to pick me up and snuggle more than usual!

In other news, Bella was inducted into the Kool Kitty Seniors Klub over at our friends Sammy and Andy's Place. Delilah and I have been looking forward to joining that club when we're old enough, but now maybe Bella can fill us in on all the fun things that happen there.

We hope you all have a great weekend!

Tuxie Tuesday

I may be four years old, but I still don't understand girlcats!

Bella spends most of her time avoiding me and hissing at me, but yesterday, I was minding my own business on the bed, when Bella jumped up with this nip heart!

Then she sniffed my behind with no hissing and then she left me with the heart!

I'm stumped!

Delilah's Gotcha Day

It's my fourth Gotcha Day today!

Four years ago today, I found my Mommy and I'm so happy I did. Mommy already wrote about my Gotcha Day so for those who have read it, we won't repeat it, but if you want, you can read Mommy's post here

Samson, Sweet Pea and even Bella have put together a fabulous party for me and all our friends, so please join us for a lot of food, treats and toys!

Finally Friday

We are very happy that it's Friday. We have a long list of fun things to do this weekend!

Today is our handsome friend, Andy's, birthday, so we're headed down south for a big party!

After we're back, Samson and I have to work together to plan Deli's Gotcha Day party for Monday.

He can't seem to stay away from me, so it shouldn't be too hard to find him. I'm sure he's around here somewhere!

We hope you can join us at Sammy and Andy's for the big party!

Tortie Tuesday with Bella

Delilah refused to pose for any photos for her Tortie Tuesday so I offered to step in and help out the human female.

Perhaps you think that a distinguished Ladycat like myself should find a better place than the bathroom sink to pose for photos, but this is my favorite place in the house. Besides, the lighting is perfect to show off how well my beautiful furs are coming in.

The human female doesn't quite understand why I love the bathroom so much, but she thinks it may have something to do with my past. I am much more affectionate with her in here than in any other part of the house. I jump up onto the counter when she's brushing her teeth and then to her shoulder so we can snuggle.

This sink also shows off how petite I am. Unlike the other big brutes in this household, I only need half of the sink and I can use the other half to lay out my floofy tail.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of my favorite room. Come back again soon!

Mancat Monday

The Treat Physique

Most of you have probably noticed that I am a very ample Mancat. Mommy calls it the 'Treat Physique'. It is a lot of hard work getting enough treats to have a body like this, so I thought I'd share my methods with my friends so that you too can have a big treat belly.

Now most Mommies and Daddies (including mine) will try to discourage you. In fact, if your Mommy is anything like mine, they will do whatever they can to keep your weight down. It is a constant battle to get treats from health conscious caregivers, but it can be done.

The most obvious move, and one of the easiest, is to just look adorable beside a bag of treats. Mommies aren't stupid and they usually can do the math. Cute Cat + Treats = Give Cat treats.

If you're lucky enough to have a cute housemate, recruit their help. Two adorable cats is almost impossible for Mommies to resist. Actually pointing at and sitting on the bag of treats is a bonus. Be careful with this move, though. You shouldn't sit on the bag completely because that will conceal it and they may not notice them. The only drawback to this tactic is that if you're successful, you have to share.

A risky but, if successful, a high treat payout move is to not eat your entire serving of 'healthy' food and then sit there looking sad and depressed. It's a gamble only because your human may not fall for it and you'll end up being really hungry.

Fool them into thinking you're too thin. This can be done by posing behind large props or housemates with big butts.

Suck up. We all know how to do it and you know your Mommy better than anyone. Use toesies, the 'look', whatever works.

And finally, if all else fails, ask them. Make sure you do it loudly and repeatedly. It may take some time but if you're persistent, you'll be given treats just so you stop asking.

I hope you all can benefit from some of my treat-getting moves. Good luck, friends!
