Delilah's 6th Birthday!

Wow! I can't believe I'm already 6 years old.  I still feel like a kitten!

It's Mommy's birthday too but she's way older than I am.  When I asked her how old she is she said to add 40 to my age.  She thinks I don't know how to add but I know that means she's 406!

She doesn't want any photos of herself on our blog so this image is the closest thing I could find online to Mommy's current look:

She looks a little scary, but really she's a sweetheart underneath all that leathery skin.

The best part about sharing a birthday with Mommy is I get whatever I want.

Tuna flakes are first on the agenda...

I love it when my snacks try to escape.

 ...some toys

Batter up!

...and finally a little bit of beer to cap the celebration off.

This is the most perfect day!  The only thing that makes it more perfect is having our friends here to celebrate with Mommy and I.

Show Your Diva

It was a year ago today that our good friend Sweet Praline left us.

Thanks to the beautiful Praline, I have my forever home.  You see, Sweet Pea and Gabriel's Daddy thought that Praline was the most beautiful cat he had ever seen, and when he said he wanted a new friend for Sweet Pea, Mommy started browsing PetFinder to find the perfect match for her.  She saw me and thought there was an uncanny resemblance to Praline and asked if she could foster me.  Of course, once she had me, she couldn't let me go (not even to Sweet Pea's Daddy), and the rest is history.

Some physical similarities aren't the only thing I have in common with Sweet Praline - I am also a diva!  I want things my way and there is no compromising.

After Mommy so cruelly had me shaved for the second time in as many years, I demanded to sleep on the bed under the covers at all times.  Mommy noticed that when she would get into bed I would leave, so because she was worried I was maybe cold without all my furs, she slept on the couch for 2 weeks!

Find another place to sleep - this bed is occupied!

It could have been because she felt guilty or because of the dirty looks I gave her, but in the end I got my way.

A queen-sized bed for a pint-sized diva!

Praline, we miss and think of you every day!  Mom Paula, you are in our thoughts.  We love you!

ManCAT Monday

Guess who's one?

Yep...ME!

The humans don't know my exact day of birth, but they estimated it was on or around April 15th and I wanted to wait to post until today so I could do my very first ManCAT Monday post.

Sweet Pea and I don't get treats because Daddy is moving us over to a raw diet, but we celebrated with a big bowl of bloody chicken organs and muscle meat.  It was wonderful!

I've grown so much!  I'm a lean, muscular 10 pounds.  In case you forgot how small I was, here is a photo of me as a kitten.

And because The Monkeys' Mommy can't resist, here's another one!

Now I can barely fit my huge body in that same cat bed.

Hopefully by next year I'll be even bigger!

Mad Monday

Yep, she did it again!

Mommy says it has something to do with the fact that I won't let her brush my tummy, but I think she just likes humiliating me!

Circe

Gabriel here!

I know, I know, I don't look like Circe, but the Monkeys' Mommy thought I would be the perfect spokescat to talk about Circe - a cat who is a current resident at Chrystal's Rescue in Illinois.

As most of you know, I too stayed at Chrystal's before The Monkeys adopted me.  I never had the pleasure of actually meeting Circe nose-to-nose, but if I had, I know I would have been knocked off my kitten paws by her gorgeousness!

Look at that coat...that face!  What a stunning ladycat.

To learn more about this gorgeous girl you can see her PetFinder profile HERE, and Chrystal's blog post about her is HERE.

Circe has been at Chrystal's for a long time.  Don't get me wrong, Chrystal's is a wonderful refuge that is filled with lots of love, but it can't compare to the joy of finding your forever home.  Circe was quite contented to stay there and not look for her forever home until very recently.  While she's always been friendly with other cats, she only recently became open to new people.  Personally, I think that she must have sensed that her future family is now looking for her, so she had to make herself more visible so that they can find her.  I am happy to help her with this task. Hopefully her new family is reading our blog and recognizes her right away.

Don't let the fact that she's in Illinois discourage you from moving ahead with adopting Circe or any of the adoptable cats at Chrystal's rescue.  I was brought all the way to Montreal, Canada from Chrystal's so we know it can be done.  If she's your future cat, let us know and we will do what we can to find a way to get her to you.  It'll be so worth it.

Tuxie Tuesday

It has been 15 weeks since my last steroid treatment for allergies and I am still symptom-free!

This calls for a nip banana celebration, dontcha think?

Mommy is beyond thrilled.  She says my floof is looking much healthier and less dull.  I even have the kitten tufts around my ears coming back.

Speaking of kitten tufts, Sweet Pea and Gabriel's Daddy likes mine so much, that he has immortalized me in a painting of me as a kitten!  It is still unfinished, but I'll let you all have a sneak peek of it...

When it's done, Mommy gets to hang that up on her wall and look at me ALL the time!  That is, when she's not looking at the real me!
