Delilah and Mommy's Birthday

It's my birthday today!  I'm 7 years old and still as spry as a kitten.

It's also Mommy's birthday.  She's 47 years old and, well, not so spry.

Mommy and I when we were both a little younger
Mommy will be celebrating at Sweet Pea and Gabriel's house tonight, but since it's a long weekend in Canada, I'll have the whole weekend plus a day to be spoiled by Mommy. I'm sure there will be lots of treats and snuggles.

Thank you for dropping by to celebrate with us!

Iggy and Gabriel's Birthday

The Monkeys' Mommy made a big mistake.

She forgot to post about my birthday!

How could you forget this face?

It was on April 15th and I am now two!  Of course she and my Daddy remembered on the actual day, but she didn't post about it so that all my friends could remember too!

To make matters even worse, she also decided that it is Iggy's birthday today! Now I have to share a post with that weird looking dude.

They know very little about his history or even how old he actually is, but by the vet's estimation, he is around 5 years old, and because today is the birthday of Iggy Pop, the guy he is named after, the humans decided this would be as good a day as any to celebrate Iggy's birthday.

The Monkeys' Mommy always said she thought Iggy (the cat) was more like a Sagittarius (whatever that means), but his birthday is chosen now and she's saying that it's his 5th birthday today.  As long as I don't have to share my birthday treats with him, I guess I'm okay with it too.

P.S.  An update about our Auntie Mattie:  She is doing very well and eating and getting strong again.  We thank you all for your purrs.

Uncle Hugo and Purrs for Mattie

Our Mommy recently traveled to Kingston, Ontario for her father's birthday party and on the way back, she stopped in at the local PetSmart to pick up some supplies for us.  True to form, Mommy went to look at the adoptable kitties.  As soon as she saw Hugo, she knew where he was supposed to go.

Where are you strange people taking me?
Mommy's mommy (Grandma) had recently suffered the loss of one of her beautiful kitties (Auntie Sally) to cancer, and her remaining kitty, Auntie Mattie, was lonely (I posted about her awhile ago HERE).  Mommy knew that Hugo would be the guy to fill that void.  Hugo had suffered the loss of his owner and was very traumatized and needed a calm human in his life.  Mommy knew that Grandma was the one for him, as she had great success in the past with traumatized kitties.

Auntie Mattie and Hugo did the 'who the heck are you?' dance for a couple of weeks, but they are coming around and getting to know each other.

Unfortunately, Auntie Mattie started to feel unwell and Grandma took her to the vet.  She has CRF and they also found a mass on her upper belly.  Grandma is awaiting the results, but as you can well imagine, she is very worried about her.

Mattie is a beautiful tortie and my Auntie and mentor, so I know she is strong, but she could REALLY use some purrs right now.  We love her very much and we so hope she can have the chance to get to know and love Uncle Hugo.

Please send purrs and good thoughts to Mattie, Hugo and our Grandma.

Thank you!

Tortie Thursday

Hi!  Remember me?

Of course you do!

We have been absent a LOT lately, but I wanted to let everyone know that we're all doing well.

We were all so sad to hear that our good friend Chica had passed away.  We loved her very much but she was especially a mentor and goddess to me and the other Tortie girls here.

Chica, I aspire to be as beautiful and tough as you were.  You ruled your household with an iron paw and loved your human family with all of your heart.  I miss you so much already and Sweet Pea, Bella and I are sending many Tortie purrs to your family.

Mancat Monday

Iggy here!

We have been MIA for awhile, but Mommy has a couple of posts she'd like to do in the next week or so, so she decided to let us post.

I am doing well and putting on some weight.  I'm a full 10 pounds of happy, healthy Mancat!

My fur is still looking a little unhealthy and I was starting to get a few knots around my neck, so Mommy said I needed to go see the groomer.  I was extremely nervous about that because the last time Bella went to the groomer she came back looking like this!

Mommy assured me that she just wanted me to go in for a conditioning and skin treatment, so she packed me up and off we went to the pet place that Mommy loves - Canine and Co. on Sherbrooke St. W. in Montreal.

I was completely unprepared for the fun I had!  These girls treated me like a king and made my fur look luxurious and silky.

A little to the left, please.

I loved being brushed and rubbed.  They thought I was cute too.  I would recommend this place to any cat in Montreal that wants their dry, winter skin treated.  I can't wait to go back and the best part is that now that I'm all soft and fluffy looking, Bella is starting to see what a handsome Mancat I really am.  Samson is going in next week so I hope HE doesn't get any cuter because Bella might start noticing him too!

Eat your hearts out, ladies.
