Tortie T(h)ursday

Hello again. This is Bella taking over Sweet Pea's Tortie T(h)ursday.

I wanted to update you all on how it's going here, and since Sweet Pea isn't always around, it's easier to take over her blogging day than the other two blog hogs that actually live in this apartment.

The last time I spoke with you all, I expressed my distaste for my new housemates. Not much has changed in that department, but I have a lot of good news with other changes.

I am much more comfortable. I feel good enough to expose my belly in the middle of the house. The Mommy creature says this is a good sign, but I just think it means I want to air out my tummy.

I've also gained a whole pound. I'm 8 pounds now! I was very thin when I arrived here and my bones were sticking out, but the food here is fantastic and I'm eating very well.

Along with feeling good in my new home, I have really started to enjoy the affection I'm getting from the humans here. The female human (she wants me to call her Mommy, but I'm not quite ready for that) and I have a few snuggle rituals and I purr really loudly for her. She seems to enjoy that very much. The human male is also very sweet to me and I feel some affection for both of them.

Samson and Delilah have been very courteous with me, and I enjoyed meeting all of you at Samson's birthday party, so while I am still not cuddly with them, everyone has made me feel very welcome. I have a feeling I'm going to love it here!

Samson's 4th Birthday

I am very excited because today is my 4th birthday!

Time really flies when you're having fun. It seems like just yesterday that I was hanging out with my littermates.

And then I moved in here and Delilah let me be the boss...for a day

Now I've turned into a big 4 year-old Mancat!

My girls have really outdone themselves for my party. There is nip, and toys and all sorts of yummy food! Please join us for a good old time and help yourselves to anything you want. Bring along your human because Mommy has liquid catnip for the mommies and daddies that want to come too.

P.S. It is my good buddy, Dylan's birthday today too! He will be joining us for the party and maybe we'll pop by his place later!

Tortie Monday?

No, the Torties are not shutting our sweet Samson out of the blog. We switched things up this week because tomorrow is Samson's birthday! He will be 4 years old!

The preparations are under way for a big party here at The Monkeys' and we all have our assignments. I was left in charge of the catnip, so I'm making sure to sample it...

Sweet Pea is testing the toys for all of our guests

It may not look like Bella is doing much, but she is testing out the nap places in the house. I never know if she approves or not with that face!

Samson's assignment is to relax and rest up for all the festivities. He's doing his job well!

I better get back to work on that catnip! Only the best for our guests!

We hope you can join us tomorrow!

P.S Our Grandma (Mommy's mommy) is having knee surgery tomorrow, so we could use some purrs for her. She's a good Grandma and gives us tummy rubs when she comes over.

Friday Fun

We missed posting yesterday because Mommy was very depressed about something that happened at work. I told her not to be sad because our order from The Casbah Kitten had arrived!

We ordered a few different things, mostly because Bella is a big fan of their toys and she was hogging all of ours. Also, my beloved Buddy the Bunny was one of the victims of my random peeing on things when I was stressed from our move, so I needed a new favorite toy.

I was very excited about my new Annie Conda, so I played...

...and played...

...and played some more

...until Mommy had a big smile on her face and I was exhausted!

Bella was pretty happy too with her new Dynomite. She showed her appreciation by giving it a cheek rub.

I definitely recommend these toys because they make both kitties and humans happy!

Have a great weekend!

Tortie Tuesday

It is tough being the boss of a household. I rule with an iron paw but I'm also a compassionate leader.

This new cube, for example, is clearly mine, but I let the others use it too. I always have my eye on them when they use my toys so they can be held accountable for any damage done to them.

You can see my lasers in the background while Bella leaves the cube after a play session. She's new here so she may not be familiar with all the rules.

Of course Sweet Pea is using it inappropriately! She is half in and half out and could very well bend the frame.

Her reaction is typical of the teen cat that she is. She doesn't care and even has the nerve to lay back her ears when I admonish her.

My concubine Samson has certain privileges. He is hanging his very large head over the edge, which will likely lead to some stretching around the entrance. He is so cute that I hardly notice.

If only all my housemates could learn to use this cube to its full potential it would stay perfect.

P.S. It seems that Samson has been out visiting other girlcats! We have an open relationship, so it's fine with me. Click HERE to see his visit to The Beaded Tail girls.

Mancat Monday

One of the many advantages of our new apartment is the sunshine. Our old apartment only had a small amount of sunlight a day, and Mommy was so frustrated because her plants kept dying. Now she has once again filled the apartment with greenery, and I can play pretend and be a ferocious lion taking a break in the underbrush.

I may look relaxed, but I can spring into action at any moment if I spot something amiss in my kingdom.

I notice that I am being watched by a strange yet exotic looking little minx. She quickly looks away when I glance at her.

I am suddenly ripped from my daydream when I notice that Mommy has carelessly left out a glaring example of technology! I am fairly sure that there are no TV remotes lying around in any jungles out there!

Humans really know nothing about playing pretend!

Friday Fun

A little while back, we were lucky winners of a cat cube from the Cats of Wildcat Woods to celebrate the beautiful Chica's 19th birthday.

Since Chica is a Tortie, Delilah decided that she should try it out first.

I got to try it out next and I love it!

Bella had to get in on the cube action, so I made sure she had some time with it. Look at her cute little behind! Mommy thinks she looks like she's wearing big furry boots.

We'll have to wait for Sweet Pea to come over so she can try out our new cube, but so far we all love it! Thank you, Chica! We had so much fun at your birthday and we can't wait to celebrate many more with you.

Tortie T(h)ursday

Sweet Pea here!

Delilah has always been my Tortie mentor and she has guided me along the path to 'Tortiness'. I have accepted her teachings and let her be the master only because I don't live here and I get to go home and be the boss with my Daddy, but most importantly, she was always bigger than me.

The exciting news is that I am now bigger and taller than her! You can see proof of my massive size in this series of photos:

Look at the tiny Deli back there. I almost feel sorry for her.

I have decided that I will not use my powerful size to overthrow her. She would be devastated! Just the fact that I know I'm stronger is enough for me. Besides, I harbor some affection for the tiny girl after all we've been through.

Edit by Delilah: I know what you're thinking - Sweet Pea's next Tortie lesson will be on perspective. I'm on it. - Delilah

Tortie Tuesday

While Sweet Pea and I may have had a rocky start, we are now very comfortable with each other.

Most of the time she listens to my advice and I've even caught her trying to copy my sleeping positions.

It occurred to me that if Sweet Pea and I can get along, maybe Bella will one day come around. Three cooperating Torties with me as the leader would be unstoppable!

Unfortunately, I have a suspicion that Bella will be a little harder to convince to follow my orders.

I don't know's just a feeling I have.
