Tortie Tuesday

It has been almost a year since I moved into this house to become a Monkey and I'm very happy to report that I'm mostly satisfied with my forever home.

I say mostly because there are a few things I'd change...

I heard the humans discussing how naughty I had become.  I couldn't believe they were calling ME naughty!  I'm a very well-behaved and distinguished ladycat.  Then, after much reflection, it occurred to me that they were calling me KNOTTY!  That made a lot more sense but  I know this means that they're considering getting a shave for me.   My knots have become unmanageable and they are close to the skin so Mommy doesn't want to risk trying to cut them out.

Of course it will be nice and cool for the summer but I'm not going to let on that I'm happy about this turn of events.  It is much more of an advantage for me if Mommy thinks I disapprove...and I know just the face to use.

Mancat Monday

We don't have a holiday here in Canada this weekend, but Mommy took the day off anyway.

The whole weekend has been very rainy in Montreal, so Mommy and I have been playing couch potato.

Mommy is almost as good at the couch potato game as I am, but I still have better moves.  Check out how well my belly becomes one with the couch.

I'm happy that Mommy is taking an extra day off of work so that we continue our training.  I'll make her a potato in no time!

P.S.  Thank you all for the purrs for our little cousin Maddie.  She is at home now and doing much better.  They don't know what caused the infection, but her fever went down thanks to all your purrs!

Wordless Wednesday

P.S.  Please say some purrs for our cute little cousin.  Mommy's 4-year old niece and our cousin, Maddie, is in hospital fighting an infection of some kind and it's her birthday today.  We are all worried and could really use some purrs sent her way.

Tortie Tuesday

Sweet Pea here!

Last week it was Delilah and The Monkeys' Mommy's birthdays and my Daddy had a party at our house to celebrate.  There were so many people and the music was too loud!

I couldn't leave and go hang out with the other Monkeys because I had to stay here and make sure that no one played with my toys, so I hung out on top of this shelf so I could get the best view.  Plus, I'm a little shy when there are too many people.  This way they could praise me and tell me how cute I am, but they couldn't actually touch me.

It was a pretty stress-filled night and I couldn't wait until they all left!  At least Daddy and The Monkeys' Mommy seemed to have a good time.  What a night!

Mancat Monday

The weather is beautiful and Deli and I are watching birdies on our big screen TV.  Life seems pretty fantastic but I know that Delilah is just trying to keep my mind off my troubles.
It's been a little over 3 weeks since we started the food trials for my allergies, but my itchies have come back.

Mommy knows that it sometimes takes a lot longer than 3 weeks to determine if I have a food allergy and we won't stop now because I have lost a half a pound, which she says is good, but I have to go back to the vet this week for a biopsy of my scabs.  I have to be off the steroids for longer than 4 weeks to have a good sample, so it'll be after Thursday.

Mommy is treating my scabs with antibiotic cream in the meantime, and I'm trying to keep focused on the birdies so I  don't think about how itchy I am.

You can see one of my scabs at the base of my tail in this photo.

I'm a pretty tough Mancat, but I could use a few purrs.  Itchies are no fun!

Tortie Tuesday

The Monkeys' Mommy here.

Today is both Deli's and my birthday!  My sweet little girl is turning 5 and I'm only 40 years older than that...sigh.

She's still sleeping like an angel, so we have to be very quiet...

Deli, sweetie...it's time to wake up.

Delilah: I'm a cat, mom, don't you know there is never a specific time we HAVE to wake up?

I know, sweetie, but today is our birthday...and...umm, we're live on the blog.

Delilah: Oh, uhhh right.  Live on the blog?  How is that possible?  You know you're not supposed to use the blog unsupervised...but since it's your birthday too, I'll let this one slide.

Thank you, Deli, you're the perfect boss.  Now how about some birthday smooches?  Your friends all want to wish you a happy birthday.  Maybe you should get up?

Delilah: Smooches?  Of course!  You should have warned me so I could have groomed my furs.

You're beautiful as always!  I love you, little girl - Happy Birthday!

Delilah: Thank you, Mommy!  I love you too.  Thank you all my friends for the birthday wishes for Mommy and I.  We love you all so much!

Our friends Sammy, Andy, Shelly and Judi made these beautiful birthday cards for us.

Delilah: Awww, that is so pretty!  Thank you guys!  You're the best.  Special smooches to handsome Sammy!

You're going to make Samson jealous, Deli, but I understand - you need to keep him on his toes.

Now, let's go get ourselves some birthday treats.

Mancat Monday

As much as I love the ladies, three Torties can be too much for any one Mancat!

It's pretty difficult going back and forth from Delilah to Bella, but when Sweet Pea visits, it's too much for even me.  She wants a piece of me too, but she is such a teenager!  I really think the humans should get her her own Mancat.

Look at that pose - she's shameless!

I do understand that Sweet Pea spends all her time alone with The Ball Guy and she must be lonely for a play-partner, but I can't be the guy for her.

She is a very sweet girl and I know she'll make a perfect girlfriend to a much younger and more energetic Mancat.

I'm going to put my paw down and insist that the humans find a boyfriend for Sweet Pea!  Since she's obviously attracted to a Mancat in a tuxedo, my suggestion would be that they get her a little tuxie boycat with lots of energy.

I think I need a nap away from the over-amorous Sweet Pea.

Now that I can speak without pesky little Sweet Pea vying for my attention, I want to tell you about our friend Bijou and her Mommy who just started their own blog.  They live just off the island of Montreal and Mommy works with Bijou's Mom's sister.  You can visit their blog HERE.

Mancat Monday

More than a week ago, Mommy switched us all over to a hypo-allergenic food to begin the food trials for my allergies.

At first I was extremely upset because that means absolutely no other food - including treats!

Then I found out that Delilah and Bella are also on the same regiment in case I try to eat from other bowls. Now that I know my girls are supporting me, it's a lot easier to deal with.

So why do I feel like there are glaring eyes at the back of my head?

Tortie Tuesday

Hi!  Remember me?  I've been suspiciously absent from any posts lately.

Whenever I mention that there aren't many posts about me, Mommy always says it's because I don't like posing for photos as much as my housemates, but there were these beautiful pictures of me and my snake toy just waiting to be posted.  I think Mommy was just embarrassed because the photos were shot during the 3 days we were without a vacuum.

I won't accept that as an excuse in the future.  Besides, it's impossible not to fur up the carpet when you're playing.

Mancat Monday

I spend a lot of time grooming and taking care of my furs so I can look handsome and cute.

All that hard work is worth it with even one comment from a ladycat that thinks I'm handsome, but have you ever wondered if I'm cute on the inside too?

When I asked Mommy what she thought, she said being cute on the inside means that I have a good personality and she says that I do, but that's not what I meant.  I mean really on the inside - what do I look like?

Because I was so curious, Mommy asked our favorite vet if he could show me and he gave Mommy an x-ray from last year when he wanted to see my insides.

I guess it's obvious - I'm cute on the inside too!
