Mancat Monday

Do you see me here on the chair?

Yeah, I thought so.

Mommy didn't see me the other day and sat on me full-on! She claims she didn't know I was there.

I mean how does that happen? I'm 17 pounds of fluffy mancat!

I won't dwell on it because I seem to be fine, but seriously, Mommy needs glasses or something!

I'm almost afraid to take my 7th nap of the day.

I said almost...

Flashback Friday

This week we've decided to go way back and post some of Mommy's favorite old pictures of Delilah and I. Next week we'll flashback with Bella and Sweet Pea

We think Mommy is just trying to find an excuse to post her favorite old pictures of us but we were adorable little kittens so we can't blame her for that.

Samson having a smoke - December 2006

Delilah killing stuffed Sylvester - January 2007

Samson playing with his poly-dactyl brother. August 2006

Delilah, hardly taking up any space at all on the computer desk - October 2006

Samson, trying to imitate The Ball Guy sleeping - September 2006

Delilah's face, Mommy's head - September 2006

We hope you enjoyed those as much as Mommy did!

P.S. Mommy still hasn't been able to catch Louis (the stray) but she's doing her best and leaving lots of food for him. She hasn't seen him since Tuesday, but the food is disappearing.

Tortie T(h)ursday

Sweet Pea here!

Most of you already know that I don't live with the rest of The Monkeys and that I live separately with my Daddy. I visit The Monkeys' frequently, but most of the time it's just me and Daddy.

I already have my paws full taking care of Daddy on a day-to-day basis, but on Tuesday, Daddy's sweet Grandmother Isabel died. She was 95 and was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia but couldn't hang on. Now Daddy is sad and missing his 'Nan'. My job is to cheer him up and make him feel loved.

First I need to make him smile by being a clown. Clowning comes naturally to me but in sad situations I really have to pull out all the stops.

He likes it when I hang off the furniture...

...and play with my toys

His favorite, though, is when I do my prairie dog impression.

Once Daddy's smiling and even laughing at my clown act, I need to swoop in with the affection. A little snuggling is very necessary when you have a sad Daddy on your paws. I like to clean his beard (just in case he forgets) and snuggle in for a snooze in the crook of his arm. He just loves this (and so do I)!

Don't worry, I'll take care of my Daddy!

Tortie Tuesday

I'm going to use my Tortie Tuesday to ask for some some purrs, prayers and positive thoughts so that Mommy can catch a cat she found outside.

About a week and a half ago, Mommy arrived at work and when she got out of her car, she saw a very thin gray cat looking at her. She went to approach him but he ran away. There was a lot of snow and it was very cold, so she's been trying to look for him every day since then. She had almost given up looking for Louis (his name - assuming he's a boy) but this morning when she arrived at work, there he was again! She was so excited because this time she came prepared (she had put cat food and a carrier in her car). He was a little afraid of her but not overly so, and she managed to put food down for him. Unfortunately she was unable to catch him, but she thinks he's very thin and in need of some medical attention so she is going to keep trying. She also could smell a strong odor of cat spray, so she knows he is in need of a hoo-hooectomy also!

Please send positive purrs for Mommy to capture and bring Louis to our vet for the attention he needs! Mommy is very worried about him and says he looks like he's endured the entire cold winter. We know the power of the CB and since Mommy can be a little scary when she's excited about things, we need all the help we can get so poor little Louis doesn't run away from her.

Now, because it's Tortie Tuesday and you're all expecting some Tortie, here I am!

Mancat Monday

Mommy bought a new area rug for the living room.

She should know better than to purchase something before I approve of it, but this rug does feel very soft on my paw pads.

It may be soft, but it needs to pass the ultimate cat test...

Oh yeah! This will work. Mommy's lucky I won't be sending her and the area rug back to the store!

Friends Friday

We are featuring a friend of ours today on our blog and he's a dog!!

When Mommy was a little girl, she lived in a place near Toronto. There was another little girl next door named Donna who Mommy really had fun playing with. Unfortunately when Mommy's parents got divorced, she was forced to move away and she never saw Donna again...until Donna found her on Facebook! All that to say, after many long email conversations, she found out that Donna has an adorable little doggie named Charlie!

Charlie was born Feb 29 2010 and he’s a Lachon, a cross between a Lhassa Apso and Bichon Friese. He lives with Donna, Kevin and Donna's daughter Sidney in Ontario and it seems to us he has the perfect doggie life filled with lots of love and plenty of treats.

Our favorite story about Charlie is that Donna brings him along to Kevin's hockey games. He's pretty well-behaved, but can get really exited as the puck slides right by. His little heart pounds so fast and he becomes one of the loudest cheerleaders and barks his head off! Donna has to turn him around to face the other way to calm him down.

Here is Mommy's favorite picture of the adorable little Charlie enjoying a breeze. She thinks it's really funny!

Charlie doesn't have a blog but we hope that he gets one in the future.

I think Charlie is cute and I don't think I'd be afraid of him (I'm pretty sure I'm bigger than him), but Mommy better not get any ideas about getting a dog!

Tortie Tuesday

When I moved in way back in June, I had a little bit of an idea that Mommy was lazy but the situation is much worse than I thought.

She takes SO long to get even the smallest chore done!

Finally she hung up some framed prints that she's been meaning to hang up since we moved here.

Now I wonder how long it'll take to put away the hammer she used to hang them up.

I'm not holding my breath...this could take awhile!

Mancat Monday

I have been accused of being a flirt with the ladycats, and while I will not deny the accusation, I'm completely and totally in love with my Delilah.

There is no cat that makes me feel more special than Deli. She and I have been together since we were both kittens and the older we get, the more our love for each other grows.

Now if you don't mind, we'd like a little alone time!

Tortie Tuesday

We had another big snowstorm here yesterday and Mommy is feeling a little discouraged and tired of Winter.

When Mommy gets down, it's my job to cheer her up. She says just looking at my face makes her smile.

There's gotta be a catch. That was just too easy!

Mancat Monday

It has been a little under a month since the end of my last treatment of Prednisone for my allergies and so far my itchies haven't come back. Mommy doesn't want to jinx anything, but the one thing that has changed is our litter.

Since we moved last May, we had been using Feline Fresh (a pine-based litter), but our pet store has been out of stock for the last month so Mommy went back to World's Best Cat Litter.

We are hoping and purring that my allergy is to pine and that we have solved the problem because the steroid medication has made me gain 3 whole pounds in a year! I don't mind having a little extra Samson around, but Mommy says it's very unhealthy.

It's tiring having this much extra weight. I think I'll have a nap!

Finally Friday

Mommy stayed home yesterday because she has some kind of flu. She's staying home today too, and you know what that means!

Sick mommies never make the bed!

I know part of our job is to make her feel better and we're doing the best we can.

Bella is doing some sort of germ-scaring ceremony

and Deli is pre-tasting Mommy's food to make sure it's nutritional.

My job is just as important - I'm making sure the bed stays warm and cozy. Of course I'm also here for snuggles if she's up to it.

With all of us on the job, Mommy will be back to herself in no time!

Tortie T(h)ursday

Sweet Pea here!

I always look forward to visiting The Monkeys' house because I have Tortie training with Delilah.

I wonder what wise lesson she'll have for me this week!

When are we starting the lesson, Deli? ...Deli?

I guess this week's lesson is about relaxation.

Tortie Tuesday

Bella has lived with us since June and she and I are no closer to being friends than we were the first day she arrived.

The problem is, she thinks she's the boss when I clearly am. Neither of us will back down.

That doesn't stop peaceful Samson from trying to get Bella and I to be friendly. He's always coming between us trying to show us both how much he cares about us.

What Samson doesn't realize is that he's one of the reasons we're fighting! I see the way she looks at him, and if she thinks I'm sharing with her, she's dead wrong!

I'm beginning to think that Samson just loves having two girls fight over him!
