Flashback Friday

We have our computer back, but we lost a lot of pictures and Mommy has been pretty down about it. We still have a lot backed up, but she just hasn't gotten around to digging into them and making some available in our 'blog' folder. We are going to tolerate only ONE more Flashback Friday. Here is a post from way back in April of last year when Mommy was off work after surgery:

Mommy is still off work which means she's home for snuggles, but it also means that she is ALWAYS on the computer! She doesn't let me sit on her tummy or lap anymore because she says it hurts too much so I've lost one of my favorite sleeping places - the computer chair!

I've employed a few methods to get it back:

1.) I strategically place myself incognito behind something on the desk so as soon as she gets up for something, I pounce on my chair! Here I am hiding behind a Perrier bottle:

2.) The next method is a little more aggressive - I sit right in front of her so she can't see the computer:

3.) If all else fails, I take the only route left - I sleep on the part of the chair she's NOT on. Sure it looks a little uncomfortable but at least I've got my chair back :)

Have a great weekend!

Tortie T(h)ursday

Hi! Sweet Pea here for another installment of Tortie T(h)ursday!

I heard Samson and Deli's Mom talking to my Daddy about me. She says that when I come over here, I'm a 'tough girl' and I'm always growling at everyone, including her and Daddy. In my defense, I came over here the first time and I met two gigantic cats who hissed and whapped me constantly for the first 3 or 4 times I visited. Now, suddenly, they want to be 'friends' and I'm supposed to be nice? I think I'm owed an apology! Delilah walks around here like she owns everyone and everything in this apartment! Okay, maybe she owns that big black and white dude, but she doesn't own me!

To prove I'm not afraid of her, I'm sleeping on their new hairy blanket.

See how casual I am? I'm not afraid of you big, furry cats!

I'm not sure why I growl at Samson and Delilah's Mommy when I'm here. I think it's just because I want everyone to know that I mean business!

One day, I'll be the head Tortie in this place. Deli better watch her back!

Medal Ceremony

Since Sweet Pea and I are the 'fetchers' of this family, I thought we should present the medals together. We aren't friendly enough to be right beside each other yet, but we can still be in the same photo!

First, we want to thank the beautiful Fin for organizing the Cat-O-Lympics

Now for the bronze medalists! We had a tie for bronze. With 5 votes each, Merci from Jan's Funny Farm and Ellie from Cory's blog! Congratulations, you two!

The silver medal goes to Milo! We thought for awhile that Milo would take the gold or tie with his brother, Alfie. It was a very close race!

The gold medal goes to Alfie! These brothers are awesome fetchers! You can see their winning video entries here

I asked Mommy for live doves to release for the ceremony, but she said no. So Sweet Pea will now release the celebratory lasers!

Thank you, Sweet Pea. Those lasers are pretty strong for such a small Tortie!

We want to thank everyone who participated! We had a ton of fun!

Tortie Tuesday

I finally tried out our new hairy blanket and it's great!

It takes me awhile to try new things. Samson is the tester in our family. If he likes it, I might try it.

This blankie is pure heaven! Peggy is the best!

P.S. We'll be announcing the medal winners for the fetching contest tomorrow because our blog secretary (Mommy) went to bed before the polls closed!

Mancat Monday

Sweet Pea has been coming over every time The Ball Guy comes by so both Delilah and I are beginning to tolerate her.

She's a very pushy kitten and she never knows when to stop. She's always trying to get closer to me.

I think she might have a kitten crush on me! She's trying to hold my paw!

There's no way I can let Deli see this. I better hiss at Sweet Pea so she doesn't get the wrong idea.

Silly kitten!

P.S. Don't forget to vote for your favorite fetcher! The voting stops tonight at midnight EST.

Fetching Contest

I'm pretty excited because Samson and Delilah are letting me blog to announce the finalists for the fetching contest!

Daddy has been helping me train fetching soccer balls since I moved in, so I'll definitely be ready for the next Cat-O-Lympics! Deli thinks I have 'potential' but I have news for her...I'll whip her furry butt next time! I'm a natural!

Now to the contenders:

1.) The multi-talented Ellie from Cory Cat Blog

You can look at her fetching entry here

2.) Virgil from The House of Cats is showing off his mad skills here

3.) & 4.) Milo and Alfie from The Cat's Meow have been training for this event since they were kittens. They're so good, we're giving them each their own entry on the poll. Check out their entries here

5.) The totally adorable and talented Merci from Jan's Funny Farm is representing doggies and showing us kitties how it's done here

6.)
Dushi, from Cats in Trees was trying to learn to fetch with treats and he fetched an even better surprise! You can see what I mean here

Deli was a little mad that she was not entered, but her Mommy said that because she was a host of the event, she was just supposed to demonstrate. Next time both her and I will be competing!

We have set up a poll on the sidebar so that you can vote for your favorite. You can vote once per day until February 22nd at 11:59 PM EST. We'll announce the medals next week. Good luck!!

We all want to thank the lovely Fin and her Mom for organizing the Cat-O-Lympics! They always make things so fun.

Flashback Friday

We are still having computer problems, but the good news is they have sent the new hard drive to us for Mommy to install, so we should be back in business this weekend! The bad news is, a lot of the most recent pictures on our computer were not backed up and there is no way to retrieve them. Mommy is devastated. Even worse, some of them were pictures of Sweet Pea in her first couple of months, so they're priceless. At least there are pictures from the blog! I'm trying to keep Mommy and The Ball Guy positive.

Because of the lack of recent pictures, we are going to dig back into the past and pull out one of Mommy's favorite 'Finally Friday' posts. If you've seen it already, we apologize, if not, we hope you enjoy it!

Friday means that Mommy comes home in an even better mood than usual and she pours herself a drink in this funny-shaped blue glass.

And sometimes she has more than one and starts laughing at things that aren't even funny!

When she has three glasses, it gets a little difficult to watch.

She gets even more snuggly than usual with us so, despite her silly behavior, we really love Fridays!

Ummm don't you think you've had enough, Mommy?

Thankful Thursday

Some of you may know that our Mommy used to smoke. She has quit a few times in the past, but she says she never really wanted to quit. Last month, for no apparent reason, she just decided that she wanted to stop and she stopped...just like that. Delilah and I are very thankful for this because we want our Mommy around for a long time. Now that it's been over a month and she's not afraid to jinx it, we can finally tell her how happy we are that she quit!

I tried smoking when I was a kitten, but it was just so I could look tougher for Delilah. She didn't like it so I quit right away!

Don't forget to enter our fetching event for the Cat-O-Lympics! Delilah is the athlete of our family. BUT, if there's a medal for spectating, I'll definitely win. Check out my spectacular spectating moves...

Cat-O-Lympics

I was totally shocked that Samson and Mommy 'bowed out' of The Cat-O-Lympics this year because we don't have access to all of our pictures and videos. I have been training for years for this and I definitely do not want to let down our gracious host, Fin! I am officially withdrawing Samson and Mommy's withdrawal AND, not only will I be competing in an event, we are going to be hosting an event, too!

First, to our event. Because the games are open to all species, I thought it would be great fun to add the event Fetching. Since fetching is more often a dog event, this will give our doggy friends more of an incentive to participate. Of course if you're a cat who fetches, you're welcome to compete also. In case you've never fetched and want to try, here's a video of me actually doing it. Doggies, pay attention - you may learn something!

To participate in our event, you will need to follow these directions:

1. Post a picture or video on your blog and let me know you did it by posting a comment here or on our blog.

2. Provide your blog address so I know where to go to judge your fetching.

3. Sit back and wait for the results!

Now, I'll show you my entry for the High Jump event hosted by Cats in Maryland.

They did not mention in their rules if videos are allowed as an entry, so I'm not even sure yet if this is a legal entry, but here I am peforming my high jump:

My jump would have been a lot cleaner if the shelf hadn't been full of so much junk! If you had the sound on, you may have noticed that I made a little sound like a karate or tennis player before I jumped. This 'grunt' is how I release my natural adrenaline so that I've got a jolt of extra power.

Wish me luck in my competition!

Let the games begin!

Mancat Monday

I dictated my Mancat Monday post to Mommy at home and she's going to post it at work, so I apologize for the delay. Mommy has a loaner computer that is really slow and she can't upload pictures and it takes forever for her to visit, so we've been a little out of touch recently. Hopefully we can get everything fixed and get back to our regular schedule soon. We are very sad that we are not participating in Fin's Cat-O-Lympic games as we originally planned, but we don't have access to our older pictures and limited computer access.

I had a great weekend watching the human Olympics on TV with Mommy and snuggling up on my new hairy blanket. Delilah does not like new things and has only tried this new blankie once, but I love it more than anything! I know she'll eventually love it so I had better get in as much alone time on it as possible, because once she discovers she loves it, she'll hog it like she does the other one. Girlcats!!

In a Pickle

It looks like we're going to be without a computer for at least the weekend. The computer place said that the hard drive is defective and, because it still is under warranty, we will have to wait for a replacement to be sent from the computer company.

Mommy is very worried that a lot of her pictures were not backed-up. You would think she would have learned from the last time!

We will be snuggling up and watching the Olympics this weekend and we hope you all have a great weekend! We'll be back on Monday (or before if Mommy gets impatient and buys a laptop!)!

Thankful Thursday

Our computer doesn't work!!

Mommy tried to turn on the computer last night, and it wouldn't go on. It is now in 'the shop' and Mommy has to post from work.

Thankfully, she was able to get a couple of photos of our new hairy blanket from Peggy!! I was on it as soon as Mommy took it out of the box so hopefully you can see the blanket underneath me. This made our bad day into a happy day! It arrived last night and we're very excited. When we get our computer back we'll post more about it. In the meantime, we will try to post from Mommy's work. We apologize in advance if we don't get around to visiting everyone in a timely manner.

Tortie Tuesday

It may surprise some of you to learn that I've actually started getting along with my tiny Tortie nemesis, Sweet Pea. On one of her recent visits, the humans noticed that I wasn't hissing at all. Samson has liked her from the beginning but now Sweet Pea is the one hissing at both of us! It isn't very hospitable of her, but she is young and manners obviously escape her.

I am much more mature than her, but I'm still a Tortie, and Torties are competitors so I can't help but compete. That being said, here is my 'Why I'm Better than Sweet Pea' submission for the week:

I'm much better than Sweet Pea at filling a sink!

Mancat Monday

We are moving to a new apartment in a couple of months, and Mommy's been putting things in boxes and bags, but I was shocked to see that she's been doing this with our toys too!

Delilah and I have been looking for some of these toys! Our fishie, Deli's soccer balls, a Casbah Kitten Jellybean, some of my favorite mousies - What is Mommy thinking? How can she hoard our toys like this?

She says we have plenty of toys that aren't packed, and we can't have these until we move. This is bordering on abuse! Please let her know that this is cruel and unusual punishment.

Finally Friday

Whew, what a week! We are definitely looking forward to a little R & R this weekend.

We are going to Sammy and Andy's island to hang out today. We were so delighted when they asked us. Sammy and Andy and their Mamabug are very dear friends to us so we're looking forward to a fun day!

We're even bringing Sweet Pea. She has shown us that she really knows how to relax!

Come by and see us hanging out with our friends by clicking here

Have a great weekend!

Tortie T(h)ursday

Hi everyone! It's Sweet Pea again. The giant cats' Mom saw my last post and she was very impressed that I had the guts to hijack the blog, so she asked me to post again! If I leave it up to Samson and Deli to offer, it'll never happen. I think they're a teensy bit jealous!

I know I'm going over to visit the huge, lazy monkey-cats when Daddy brings out the PTU.

I like coming over to visit these guys even if they don't like me that much yet. I really just want to play, so I don't understand why they're so mad when I jump on them.

I also like coming here because when they move to their new apartment in May, Daddy and I are moving into this place! I need to get used to my new home and so far I like it a lot. I hope they leave this cool tent!

I'm going to come by every week until May to make sure they're not wrecking my new place! See ya next week, Samson and Deli!
