Mancat Monday

I've said it before, but it warrants repeating - I love the Casbah Kittens!

Mommy has a strange obsession with the crescent moon so she asked Rita to make us a custom crescent moon toy.

It smells so wonderful and is perfectly bunny-kickable!

Rita even threw in a little star. I'm sure it was for me because I'm Mommy's star!

To be honest, I've never really understood what Mommy loves about the crescent moon...until now! She must love bunny-kicking too!

Thank you, Rita, Jane, Alice, Gabriel & Max!

P.S. The very talented Judi at Sammy and Andy's place hatted me today! I am very grateful because it's been so cold! You can see me looking dapper in my new hat HERE!

Thankful Thursday

We live in Canada, so we had our Thanksgiving back in October. It doesn't mean that I can't be thankful though.

Mommy noticed that I was spending a lot of time under my favorite chair. She started calling it my 'executive suite' and bought a new water fountain for close-by. Bella was bullying me away from the other fountain (yes, little tiny Bella) and because I am such a gentlemancat, I would just go away even when I was thirsty. Mommy was right to assume that I was just escaping all the Tortitude in this house by escaping to my hideaway.

She decided that I needed to feel more comfortable in my executive suite so she contacted the girls over at The Casbah Kitten to see if they could make me a coaster that fit perfectly under there.

They took their job very seriously. Here's Alice doing a final check to make sure that my coaster was just right.

Mommy chose a purple because she said it is the colour of royalty and fit for a king.

Thank you, girls! This is the best executive suite ever!

Thankful Thursday

Being a Monkey is a fabulous thing, and every day is a day to be thankful for. Well yesterday it was one of those days where everything was even more wonderful than usual!

Sweet Pea came over for a visit with her Daddy while Mommy was at work and we received two packages in the mail! One was from our friends at Marg's Pets. They sent us some really cool rats!

I love these rats so much!

Samson and Sweet Pea also enjoyed playing with it.

Bella also loved the Rats, but she is a little shy about playing on camera

Thank you so much, Marg! We absolutely adore them!

The second package was from The Casbah Kitten! We got some of our favorite jelly beans and a pickle toy!

Mommy thought it was a mistake because she hadn't ordered it, but because we love these toys so much and we had already drooled all over the packages (Samson put a tooth right through the jelly bean bag!), she sent an email to Jane, Alice and Rita to let them know we received them and would buy them from her. Rita said it was a surprise but she wasn't sure if she was supposed to let us know who they were from! We LOVE Casbah Kitten toys, so whoever sent us this awesome present, please let us know so we can thank you properly!

Friday Fun

We missed posting yesterday because Mommy was very depressed about something that happened at work. I told her not to be sad because our order from The Casbah Kitten had arrived!

We ordered a few different things, mostly because Bella is a big fan of their toys and she was hogging all of ours. Also, my beloved Buddy the Bunny was one of the victims of my random peeing on things when I was stressed from our move, so I needed a new favorite toy.

I was very excited about my new Annie Conda, so I played...

...and played...

...and played some more

...until Mommy had a big smile on her face and I was exhausted!

Bella was pretty happy too with her new Dynomite. She showed her appreciation by giving it a cheek rub.

I definitely recommend these toys because they make both kitties and humans happy!

Have a great weekend!

Fun Toy Friday

We were very honored to be chosen as testers for The Casbah Kitten's new toy - Rare orange-tongued noisy night frogs!

We received one for each of us to test, and since I'm writing this blog, we'll start with my review.

These little froggies smell SO good! It must be the premium nip that Jane and Alice grow in their garden. I couldn't help but rub this little critter all over my face.

They're slippery too! While I turned to see what Mommy was all excited about on the TV...

...my froggy slipped away! Don't worry, I punished him later.

Samson also noticed how wonderfully intoxicating these little guys are. He was instantly drunk on the nip!

He got so silly that he tried to wear his froggy on his feet! Mommy says the human equivalent is a lampshade over the head.

Sweet Pea may be new to toy testing, but she has impressed me with her thoroughness! In her enthusiasm, she really put her froggy to the test, and by all accounts, her little froggy was a hit!

She even tasted his froggy legs!

We all agree that these froggies are wonderfully tasty, easy to bat around and the nip is highly potent. We give the Rare Orange-Tongued Noisy Night Frogs eight very enthusisastic thumbs up (Sweet Pea has two extra thumbs). These yummy creatures will be available in The Casbah Kitten store in early June.

Monkey tested - Monkey approved!

Tort-Toes Contest

Mommy and I had such a wonderful birthday yesterday! I want to thank you all for the wonderful wishes you sent us! We indulged in some nip, a little toy playing and, of course, tuna.

Now that I'm 4 years old, I have matured enough to realize that I'm a very lucky cat to be living with my family and to have you, my friends and readers, in my life. To celebrate this, I've decided that this year I'm going to give away some prizes to show my appreciation to all of you.

Before I let you know how to enter and win the contest, here are the prizes that you'll be playing for. One lucky kitty or doggy is going to win ALL three! All of these prizes have one thing in common - a portion of the proceeds go to help animals in need.

1. A hairy blanket made by none other than the extremely talented Peggy! Samson and I have two hairy blankets and we don't know how we lived without them! We bid on this blanket specifically for our contest. Isn't it just divine?

2. A $15.00 USD gift certificate to The Beaded Tail Etsy shop! Mommy is addicted to the beautiful jewelry in this store and we think that one of you will love to give something wonderful to your Mommy or special lady in your life.

3. A $15.00 USD gift certificate to The Casbah Kitten Etsy shop! If you've read our blog at all, you'll know that we go bananas over Jane and Alice's special handmade and handgrown catnip toys (hey, speaking of bananas, Samson and I think you girls should make a banana toy!)!! $15.00 dollars will get you something really awesome to play with. They have all sorts of really inexpensive toys for kitties and doggies!

Here's Samson posing with some of our loot:

Now the contest details. A number of our friends have agreed to model their toes, and every Tortie Tuesday or T(h)ursday for the next week, Sweet Pea and I will be posting a couple of pictures of some mystery Tortie toes and you'll have to guess who they belong to from the list of Tortie models. Each Tortie's toes will only be shown once, and we're going to give you lots of hints, so it should be pretty easy (we hope). At the end of the contest you can submit your answers, and everyone who guessed all the toes correctly will be entered in a draw for all THREE of the above prizes.

Here is a list of the the lovely Tortie models assisting us with this contest, beginning with Sweet Pea and I from this blog:

Delilah
Sweet Pea
Isabella from The Beaded Tail
Maggie May from The Creek Cats
The most beautiful Tortie guardian angel ever, Callie, from The Kitty Krew
Tasha from Mishkat
Sweet Praline from her self-titled blog
Pricilla from The Kitty Trio
Bijoux from Animal Shelter Volunteer Life blog
May Ling from The Katnip Lounge
Cricket from The Kool Kittie Krew
Meredith Ann from the Lilacs and Cats blog

You do NOT need to be a Tortie to win and even if you're one of the models, you can also enter (your own toes will be the easiest ones, we hope!) There is also no restriction on your location. If you have any questions, please email our Mommy at themonkeycats (at) gmail dot com.

Here are today's toes
.

I think the first Tortie toes are the easiest to guess because there is no other Tortie we know with this much floof! This sweet girl's toes are one of a kind, just like the Tortie.

The next toes are plentiful and a little strange looking, but wonderful in their own way. I think this young and sweet kitten will eventually learn to open doors with those mittens!

If you can guess these two toes, keep note of who they are, because Sweet Pea will have more toes for you to guess on Tortie T(h)ursday!

Good luck!

Mancat Monday

The Easter Bunny made an appearance at our house yesterday and he left a little pink replica of himself filled with premium catnip from Jane and Alice's garden! I named him Buddy the Bunny

I gave him a proper welcome and whispered in his ear to warn him about Delilah and how rough she is with catnip bunnies.

Here comes Deli! It's better if you don't look directly into her eyes, Buddy.

Move on, Deli, nothing to see here!

It was worth a shot.

Be strong, Buddy!

Thankfully The Casbah Kitten makes very sturdy toys, because Delilah is ruthless!

P.S We are purring hard for our friend, Loki, as he's in the cat hospital with an intestinal blockage. His Nanny is very worried about him, so please join us with your purrs so he can get better soon and go home to Nanny.

Tortie Tuesday

It's a little embarrassing, but I feel I must bring attention to a very serious matter. I am expected to single-pawedly come up with new blog material at least once a week, yet the only recent picture of me in the 'Blog' folder is of me playing with a Christmas nip candy cane. It wouldn't be so horrible if this photo had been taken around Christmas time, but this is a recent photo.

Mommy has packed a lot of our toys and has been lazy about buying us new ones, so I was forced to play with this Christmas one. Don't get me wrong, it's a great toy, it's just that it's March!

Because of my weekly post, I expect to have the latest and/or holiday appropriate toys to talk about. I discussed this with Mommy and she said that she had already thought of that, and there is an order on the way from The Casbah Kittens that is both new AND holiday appropriate, but I would have to wait until it arrived to know what it is. She said that she is going to let all of you see it before me by posting a link after I've finished blogging for the night (pssst, click HERE to see Deli's new toy). Of course I know you will all tell me how awesome it is, right?

In a Pickle

It looks like we're going to be without a computer for at least the weekend. The computer place said that the hard drive is defective and, because it still is under warranty, we will have to wait for a replacement to be sent from the computer company.

Mommy is very worried that a lot of her pictures were not backed-up. You would think she would have learned from the last time!

We will be snuggling up and watching the Olympics this weekend and we hope you all have a great weekend! We'll be back on Monday (or before if Mommy gets impatient and buys a laptop!)!

Santa is Real!

My plan to make sure Santa came to our house worked!

Yay!

We were going to wait until Monday to post, but I am too excited!

Despite Mommy's best efforts to squash Christmas, it still happened. I even think I saw Santa, although it was the middle of the night and it could have been Mommy in her big, red housecoat shuffling to the bathroom...but I woke up to this!

Sweet Pea came over with The Ball Guy and this time we had the Feliway diffuser going, so it was a lot more harmonious than previous times. Although the girls did have one or two stand-offs, but that's to be expected with two Torties!

I just wanted to enjoy the sweet smell of my catnip Candy Cane...

Santa got me this very cool Yeowww catnip cigar from Baby Patches' store, but Deli decided that she liked it more than I did, so I stole her catnip lemon (I'm sure Santa chose a lemon for her because she's such a sourpuss!)

Now I've got to protect this lemon with my life! You know how easily women change their minds.

I don't want the cigar now, anyway. Delilah already drooled all over it!

Sweet Pea loved her presents from Santa (and me and Deli), too! She couldn't wait to try out the kitty coaster from The Casbah Kitten's Etsy Store

And she LOVED the jellybeans that Jane and Alice sent for her.

We had a great Christmas, thanks to me!

Also, yesterday was my favorite day of the year - Boxing Day! I celebrated by sleeping on a box. Wait...I do that every day...
