Mancat Monday - Giveaway Winners

I'm very excited today because I get to announce the winners of our Cascades Boutique giveaway and The Beaded Tail gift certificate for the international entries.

I still love my teepee but I'm a little mad about having to share it now.

Mommy had a party on Friday night and Deli stole a vegetable samosa from the hors d'oeuvres platter and brought it into our teepee to slobber on it and then eat it.

It smells a little funky in here now.

I'll put my squabble with Delilah aside for now so that I can announce the winners of our giveaways!

There were 28 U.S and Canadian Entries and we drew the 11th Can/U.S. comment by using random.org.

Congratulations to The Island Cats!  You won a teepee from Cascades Boutique!  Wally and Ernie, just a little friendly advice from a fellow Mancat - don't let Zoey in there with any samosas!

We also had 8 international entries and we drew the 5th international comment by using random.org.

Congratulations to Ginger Jasper!  Your Mum won a $20.00 USD gift certificate from Beaded Tail!

Winners - please contact our Mom through the contact button on our profile and tell her your mailing address.

Thank you to all who entered!

Mancat Monday

Isabella from The Beaded Tail posted about a really awesome Etsy store and she recommended Laura and The Cat in the Clover and the Cat Angels available in her store. Of course, Mommy ordered one of them right away as a memorial to her former Mancat, Muddy.

Here is the Muddy Cat Angel:

I was a little hesitant because I really like being Mommy's only Mancat. I don't want to share her or my girls with anyone else. But when the Muddy Cat Angel arrived, it made Mommy so happy. She cried a little bit thinking about Muddy at first, but she said the Angel makes her feel very good.

I like the fact that the new Muddy is not very big, so if he gets out of paw, I'll be able to handle him.

I'm the head Mancat around here now, you got that?

Maybe it won't be so bad having Cat Angel Muddy around. I could use a Mancat friend to hang out with. Besides, he's pretty quiet.

Tort-Toes Contest

Mommy and I had such a wonderful birthday yesterday! I want to thank you all for the wonderful wishes you sent us! We indulged in some nip, a little toy playing and, of course, tuna.

Now that I'm 4 years old, I have matured enough to realize that I'm a very lucky cat to be living with my family and to have you, my friends and readers, in my life. To celebrate this, I've decided that this year I'm going to give away some prizes to show my appreciation to all of you.

Before I let you know how to enter and win the contest, here are the prizes that you'll be playing for. One lucky kitty or doggy is going to win ALL three! All of these prizes have one thing in common - a portion of the proceeds go to help animals in need.

1. A hairy blanket made by none other than the extremely talented Peggy! Samson and I have two hairy blankets and we don't know how we lived without them! We bid on this blanket specifically for our contest. Isn't it just divine?

2. A $15.00 USD gift certificate to The Beaded Tail Etsy shop! Mommy is addicted to the beautiful jewelry in this store and we think that one of you will love to give something wonderful to your Mommy or special lady in your life.

3. A $15.00 USD gift certificate to The Casbah Kitten Etsy shop! If you've read our blog at all, you'll know that we go bananas over Jane and Alice's special handmade and handgrown catnip toys (hey, speaking of bananas, Samson and I think you girls should make a banana toy!)!! $15.00 dollars will get you something really awesome to play with. They have all sorts of really inexpensive toys for kitties and doggies!

Here's Samson posing with some of our loot:

Now the contest details. A number of our friends have agreed to model their toes, and every Tortie Tuesday or T(h)ursday for the next week, Sweet Pea and I will be posting a couple of pictures of some mystery Tortie toes and you'll have to guess who they belong to from the list of Tortie models. Each Tortie's toes will only be shown once, and we're going to give you lots of hints, so it should be pretty easy (we hope). At the end of the contest you can submit your answers, and everyone who guessed all the toes correctly will be entered in a draw for all THREE of the above prizes.

Here is a list of the the lovely Tortie models assisting us with this contest, beginning with Sweet Pea and I from this blog:

Delilah
Sweet Pea
Isabella from The Beaded Tail
Maggie May from The Creek Cats
The most beautiful Tortie guardian angel ever, Callie, from The Kitty Krew
Tasha from Mishkat
Sweet Praline from her self-titled blog
Pricilla from The Kitty Trio
Bijoux from Animal Shelter Volunteer Life blog
May Ling from The Katnip Lounge
Cricket from The Kool Kittie Krew
Meredith Ann from the Lilacs and Cats blog

You do NOT need to be a Tortie to win and even if you're one of the models, you can also enter (your own toes will be the easiest ones, we hope!) There is also no restriction on your location. If you have any questions, please email our Mommy at themonkeycats (at) gmail dot com.

Here are today's toes
.

I think the first Tortie toes are the easiest to guess because there is no other Tortie we know with this much floof! This sweet girl's toes are one of a kind, just like the Tortie.

The next toes are plentiful and a little strange looking, but wonderful in their own way. I think this young and sweet kitten will eventually learn to open doors with those mittens!

If you can guess these two toes, keep note of who they are, because Sweet Pea will have more toes for you to guess on Tortie T(h)ursday!

Good luck!

Tortie Tuesday

Last week Samson posted about the earrings Mommy bought from Beaded Tail's Etsy store and showed his silly behavior when he smelled that pretty girlcat Angel's scent all over the box. A few of you asked to see the earrings she bought, and since I can hold myself together a little better than Samson, I'll be able to show you the pretty things without throwing myself all over the box!

Because Mommy is not a great photographer, I'm using the pictures that Sharla took for her store.

Aren't they pretty? It almost makes me wish I had pierced ears, but Torties have no need to adorn themselves with baubles...our fur patterns and colours are enough of an accessory.

Wild Wednesday

Awhile back, Mommy received a gift certificate for The Beaded Tail's Etsy shop from Katie at Mishkat's. Mommy is a big fan of The Beaded Tail jewelry so she was very excited. Yesterday she received her order in the mail and in the note in the package, Sharla said that the beautiful ladycat Angel helped her get the package ready.

Angel sent some very lovely scents all the way from Oregon to Canada and it made me a little bit wild!

That ladycat makes me act up! Thank you, Angel!

Mommy had the same reaction as I did to her earrings! Okay, not really, but it was funny imagining her rolling all over the floor. But she really does love her earrings and, although she bought two pairs for herself and one for a Christmas gift, she is having a really hard time choosing which one to give away!

Mommy asked me to say thank you to Katie for being so wonderful and to Sharla for making such beautiful things!

Thankful Thursday

My bribe...ummm, I mean present for Mommy arrived from The Beaded Tail! I bought Mommy some earrings and a necklace from Angel, Isabella, Sadie and Sharla's Etsy store

Mommy was so surprised and happy. She gave me kisses and I think she might even have been purring when she tried on all her jewelry!

Sharla sent a beautiful gift for Mommy that she loves, the beautiful Angel sent me a rat toy (I think she might like me as much as I like her) and Isabella sent Delilah a tortie mousie! It was all very exciting, and my plan worked very well because she was so pleased with me that she gave me as many treats as I wanted. I hope this trend continues because I'm so full I can hardly move!

Mommy kept trying to photograph me with the Rosie Rat that Angel gave me, but I was too quick for her!

Delilah loves her tortie mouse from Isabella, but since Deli took over the hairy Tortie blankie, I thought I'd steal some time with her mousie.

And Mommy loves her beautiful earrings and necklace. I bought her very meaningful pieces that would remind her of me. Mommy forgot her camera at the office with a whole bunch of photos on it, so she's using the photos from their store.

Nuts For You Squirrel pendant to show her that I am nuts about her and treats. I think that my tail rivals that of a squirrel, too!

And Black Leopard Onyx and Leopard earrings because I'm her little leopard.

I wanted to thank the wonderful girls of The Beaded Tail for their talent and generosity. They make perfect gifts for bribing mommies, and the proceeds are donated to animal charities.

Mancat Monday

Things have really been great for Mommy since she was hypnotized for weight loss. She's losing weight, exercising and smiling a lot more! The only drawback is, she is a lot more conscious about what she's eating and more importantly, what we're eating.

When I'm on her lap and she's rubbing my belly, she says hurtful things like, 'Look at my fat little boy' and 'I love you, my chubby monkey'. Does she not realize that I have feelings too? Sure I like to over indulge occasionally. I'm a Mancat, I'm supposed to be big and strong in case some other Mancat comes by and is interested in my girls. What's even more distressing than the derogatory nicknames, is the fact that she's giving me less treats! I don't think it's very fair that Delilah ate the whole container of Bonito Flakes that we won from Baby Patches' blog, and she barely blinked an eye, but when I want an extra nibble of treats and I gently meow constantly to get her to do it, she claims that I've 'had enough'.

I'm really not pleased with the way things are going, so I've decided to buy Mommy something special to show her how much I love her and also to hopefully distract her from my tummy. I saw in a movie once, that human women love jewelery, so I went over to see those pretty girls at The Beaded Tail and did a little shopping with my allowance for Mommy. She will be so excited when she sees what I got her that she'll empty the entire treat bag!

Wish me luck!

Mancat Monday

The other day, I found this box with a whole bunch of bubble wrap in it (it looks suspiciously like the box Tristan and Crikey sent us for Paw it Forward), so I decided to investigate further. It turns out that there's a bunch of toys including two crinkle balls (one of my favorite toys) that I've never seen before! I don't know why Mommy was hiding these balls in there! Anyway, I took them out and in the process, found that the bubble wrap was very comfy.

I decided to play with the crinkle balls later, after I snoozed.

Mommy arrived on the scene and exclaimed, 'Samson, what are you doing in the Paw it Forward box for Angel, Isabella and Sadie?!'. Well I know she's not stupid, but sometimes I wonder. I'm a cat, and there's a box with cat toys in it; where else would I be? I was a little confused about the woofie toys, but I never know with Delilah, she has some strange tastes. Of course, I assumed this stuff was for Deli and I, sheesh!

I thought about it further, and remembered how pretty those girls of Beaded Tail are. If she is sending this stuff over to their house, I can hide in here until she sends it. I will pop out of the box and we will all play with the toys and eat the treats! Those girls are gonna love me!

Have a great Monday!

P.S. If you girls don't see me in the box, I was discovered. I will leave as many furs as possible, though! And Mommy says she's still not finished gathering things for the box - she ordered something online so we have to wait for it to arrive.
