Bella's First Post

Hi everyone! My name is Bella and I'm a new resident here at The Monkeys'.

I was happy to see that The Monkeys have a blog because it gives me a great opportunity to complain about how they treat me!

I have to admit that this place is a lot nicer than the shelter I was living in, but Samson, Delilah and sometimes Sweet Pea are not the easiest of cats to live with. Sure, they appear all glamorous and sweet in their photos and blog, but in reality, they are vicious creatures that want nothing more than to harass any newcomers. It's a clique that I'm not so sure I want to be a part of.

I'll begin with Samson. I've noticed that a lot of you young girlcats out there think he is a dream. I agree that he is very handsome, and keeps a clean coat, but he is always trying to sniff me. I am old enough to be his great, great, great, great grandmother!

To his credit, he backs off when I growl at him, but this is bordering on harassment.

To the readers of this blog, it may appear that Delilah is trying to be friendly with me by sidling up to me when I sleep. The truth is that she is a big fluffy bully! She thinks that she is the boss here and makes sure to poop in my litter box, eat from my food dish and drink from my water dish. I may be small and have no floof at the moment, but she had better watch out because my fur is growing every day. I have a thing or two to teach that whippersnapper, and, just for starters, I'm going to have a nice refreshing drink from her water fountain.

Sweet Pea is another story altogether. I still haven't figured out what her intentions are, but I can assume that some of her behavior is because of her very young age. When she visits, she brings along a human man that the other two refer to as 'The Ball Guy'. He is a nice enough human, but he doesn't realize that his affection for me makes Sweet Pea quite angry. She is constantly glaring at me from discreet places.

I can take comfort, though, in my observation that she does it to the other cats too.

I suppose that the advantages here (great food and lots of affection from that Mommy creature) outweigh the disadvantages, but it is a difficult adjustment to go from being a spoiled onlycat, then to a shelter and then to living with a bunch of heathencats! I will adjust eventually, but in the meantime I am imprisoned with two terrible monsters!

P.S. We were included in Wendy's LOL spot yesterday for Canada Day. She is a very funny human!

Hi Bella! So exciting to hear from you! I know what you mean about those young cats I'm having my own problems at home with those who have not aged well yet.I loved your post and your bit about sweet pea made my Mom laugh!

Wow, you are so lucky to be out of the shelter! I am amazed at your facial expressions - I hope the other kitties become more friendly with you.

Hey! Wishing all you cats and ‘beans great well-being and happiness! Please visit my blog about a colony of abandoned/feral cats near my home. There will be stories there as time goes on that could inspire and inform anyone you know who is helping or plans to help homeless cats anywhere.

Hi Bella! We're glad to finally hear from the newest Monkey! We have to admit that we are two of the girlcats who think Samson is a dream! But, it's not only girlcats that think that - our mommy does too!

We hope Delilah continues to let you drink from her water and that Sweet Pea continues to let her daddy show you affection! We really hope you begin to enjoy being a Monkey!

Aw, Bella, we hope everyone will be come friends soon. It's a huge adjustment for you, especially, and oh, it's even harder to deal with multiple torties--all that tortitude! LOL.

Lots of kitty kisses and smooches to you!

Miss Bella, you are very clever... I think you'll find in time that you've got some wonderful friends.

Hey, on an unrelated note, is that you on I can haz cheezeburger?

Miss Bella, Tasha says she knows exactly what you mean! She's continually subjected to unwanted sniffing from boy cats who do not treat her with enough respect. And she doesn't even want to imagine having another girl cat in the house.

We know it's hard to have to go from being an onlycat to living in a multi-cat household, but we hope that everything works out. You have a great Mommy and we know that will help a lot. And even Tasha thinks that it is (sort of!) nice to have company during the day when the humans leave.

P.S. You have the cutest face! Our mom loves the stripe down your nose and the expressions you can make.

Oh Bella, that is terrible that they won't leave you alone. The expression on your face tells it all. It must be really hard to have to put up with other cats especially since you are used to living alone.
It will get better. Maybe Samson will become your friend.
Have a great week end.

Bella, I feel your pain. In this house, I amd the only Cat That Matters, in my opinion. I get all hiss-trionic at the other feline creatures here, and there are ELEVEN of them! They try to sniff me and get all up in my stuff and I just don't like that. HMPH!

Oh Bella, we know it can be hard to deal with those other cats. Me and Ernie still have our occasional spats...and as for Zoey...well, don't even go there! She's a she-devil!

We know over time you'll get use to those other Monkeys and you might just learn to like them too! 'Specially that Samson...he's a pretty cool mancat dude.

Hello Bella! We're glad to hear from you. We have to admit that when we were kittens and we moved here and our older sister cat was 21 years old, we used to sniff at her and make her hiss too. Maybe it's a boy thing?

Hi, Bella! I am Mac. I was an only cat, too, and had my Mom all to my self. Now I have to share my new Mom with two other cats. Angel gets all hissy and growls whenever I come into the same room as her. I just ignore her. Kirby is an OK youngster. He and I do play chase a lot. Sometimes I am chasing him it is really not for fun, but the Mom does not know that. I hope you get those three in shape real soon!

Hi Bella
It is furry nice to hear from you!
And you do have quite a bit to say.

:-)

We think that in a short time you will fall in love with Samson, Delilah and Sweet Pea and see that they are wonderful brothers and sisters. They are only tryin to get to know you. Just like we are.

We believe you will love your new home and that you'll have a happily ever after story.

After all even though you had to stay at a shelter for a short time you've become so lucky to find such a wonderful warm and loving home.

It does take time as when Cricket furst came to our house, we were all a bit standoffish. But now we know she's not going anywhere and we're just dealing with it. We hope things ease up for you soon, sweetie!
