Tortie Tuesday

I am posting today because I had a bit of an incident over the weekend.

On Saturday night, Mommy noticed that my bib was all wet and I was drooling profusely.  She called the emergency vet and they said that as long as I was eating and eliminating normally, she could wait until Monday to bring me in.

It turns out that the drooling is still a mystery.  I have a moderate amount of plaque, but it hasn't increased since my last visit 8 months ago.  I also do not have any abscesses or wounds in my mouth.   The vet was stumped but couldn't rule out a bad tooth so he gave me some anti-inflammatory medicine and we will wait to see if the drooling returns.  If it does, I'll be getting dental x-rays and a possible cleaning.

Iggy fared a little better at the vet.  He has gained a half a pound and he passed his FIV/FELV test.  He's negative!  Now he'll be able to assume his role as Bella's new boyfriend and she will be allowed to stay in the room with him when Mommy goes to work

I think there's a handsome Mancat underneath all the scruffiness.  Bella is a lucky gal.

Bella doesn't quite agree.  She is praying to the great Tortie Goddess in the sky to not have to spend her days with Iggy

She'll come around (heehee)

Delilah, we sure hope your drooling isn't caused by anything that requires dental surgery. Dental x-ray? Gees, we don't think our clinic does those! It's sure never been mentioned.

We're glad Iggy is doing well and passed his vet "test." :-)

But as for Bella's feeling on having a new roomie...Hmm. We hope she *will* be okay with Iggy, otherwise it'll only create more stress for all concerned. Paws crossed all will be fine!

That's a worry Delilah. I hope the anti-inflammatory works and quikly. That would scare my mommy too.

SO glad about handsome Iggy. xoxoxo

Strange that your drooling started after Iggy joined the family...hmmmmmmm....Heh heh. On a more serious note, we sure hope the meds help with the drooling.
Maybe your Mommy could send Iggy for grooming session? :) So happy his vet visit went well!

You never know -- maybe Deli is drooling over Iggy! You have him destined for Bella, but Deli may have other ideas.

Hope Deli's OK and that she doesn't need any further intervention.

Glad to hear that the little guy is gaining weight and doing generally better.

I'm anxious to see how Bella and Iggy get along. This should be interesting. Keep us posted (pun intended).

I don't know if this might be it, but our brother Yuri, who went to the bridge, used to drool on the Momma when he was happy. She would hold him on her sholder and he would drool down her back... we thought it was kinda yucky, but she seemed to like her "drooler boy". Hope it's nothing more than that.

Delilah, we sure hope your drooling goes away. Maybe you just had something caught in your mouth. Hope you can tame that Bella. I bet you end up being good friends. Glad you did all right at the vet too.
Thanks for the purrs for Mahoney.

Deli, we hope your mystery is solved so you don't have any problems in the future. We think Iggy is very handsome and Bella will be charmed by him in no time!

Iggy might need a shampoo & blow-dry (or a shave) to look his best, but we're with Delilah. There's a good looking mancat hiding somewhere under all those snarls and tangles. Give Iggy a few weeks of steady meals and he should look a lot better.

We hope Delilah's drooling stops soon and it's nothing serious.

We can wait to see pictures of Bella and Iggy together.
