Off Our Rocks

Some of you have noticed the old rocks we had in the aquarium stand that Delilah and I sleep in.

Well, since Tristan and Crikey sent us our cool new Boogie Mats, Mommy decided to put those rocks away (she still won't throw them out because she is sure she'll get another aquarium one day) and make a more comfortable love nest for Deli and I.

So far, we've each slept in there but not together.

I'm a little concerned that Delilah and I need the rocks to be romantic. Maybe dirty, old aquarium rocks are a Tortie aphrodisiac! In fact, the more junk in there, the better!

This is how we used to spend our time in there (We've posted this video before. It's rated 'R' and not recommended for young kittens).

I'm going to have to try to woo Delilah all over again. Wish me luck!

Also, This weekend Mom is going to attempt to transfer our blog over to a domain name that she bought (www.themonkeys.ca) so we're hoping we don't disappear! If we do, just click on the site to find us.

Have a great weekend!

Mancat Monday

I had mentioned last week that Delilah and I were invited to become members of Floof and Fur. Yesterday, we posted our first post there, but the coolest thing ever was this cute little badge they have there for me!

If you want to read our post, you can click here

The weather here is stifling hot and although Mommy just bought a brand new air conditioner, it's not installed yet. Hopefully The Ball Guy will read this and take my not so subtle hint! We're mostly furry over here! Mommy tried to install it herself but she just started saying a lot of bad words and then got out the fan. Some independent woman!

Her efforts have exhausted me and I don't want to work up a sweat. I'm just going to relax a bit and have a snooze in one of the boxes left over from International Box Day on Friday...

Happy Mancat Monday!

Easy Sunday

Monkey Vacation

Happy Sunday everyone!

Samson and I are taking a two day break but it's not what you might think! Mommy asked if she could write our Mancat Monday and Tortie Tuesday posts. Of course we were a little hesitant because she's Mommy and she gets a little out of hand sometimes when it comes to her Monkeys but, we decided that we could use the break so we're going to risk possible embarrassment and let her do her thing. Please friends, keep in mind that she may say some stuff that is just not true! She has a tendency to exaggerate but, don't all Mommies?

Anyway, Samson and I are going to relax, lie in the sun, eat, beat up toy mousies and just enjoy this nice weather!

The Crime

The Crime

The Suspects

The Evidence

The Confession

Well, if you'd just have kept the box it came in, I wouldn't have had to claw up your chair, Mommy!

Mancat Monday

Samson and the Three Boxes

I've been very busy with my quest for the perfect box.

This one is too small...

This one is too big!

And too much trouble to defend...

All that searching can pay off when you find the perfect fit. I found this one in the 'recycling' area.

I just have one question; what does recycling mean?

Have a great Monday!

Mancat Monday

My Sharpie Dots

I've received a few comments and compliments about my Sharpie dots on my nose. Mommy used to call them beauty marks but the gorgeous Baby Patches (she has one too!) left a comment about my 'Sharpie' dots and Mommy really liked that. It is not completely unique because I've seen it a lot but Mommy says mine really work for me.

I have one on my nose and one on the cheek below. If you look closely, you'll see that they're joined in my nostril! (Biggify the picture to see into my nostril! Okay, maybe you just wanna take my word for it..)

One interesting bit of trivia is that when Mommy first got me, and was thinking of a perfect name for me, she considered calling me Lemmy after one of her favorite musicians in Motorhead. Apparently he has two dots on his face like me! She said the name didn't stick because Lemmy is not even slightly cute and my dots weren't as pronounced when I was a kitten. Besides, she thought the name Samson would complement Delilah very well.

Sometimes I try to look tough to make Mommy change my name to Lemmy - She says I'm still too cute.

The Ball Guy is an artist and one of the things he paints is pets (of course, Delilah and I are his favorite subjects!). When he painted me, he got the dots perfectly! He is a very talented man.

Mancat Monday

Delilah and Mommy's birthday was yesterday and what an event it was! Thanks to everyone who came by and celebrated with us.

It's a holiday in Canada (Victoria Day) so Mommy is sleeping in. I wanted to show you how I got the money to get Delilah and Mommy presents. I found this wallet and it had money in it so I slipped the papers to the Ball Guy to get treats for Deli and flowers for Mommy! I think they would've preferred a mousie but The Ball Guy assured me this was the way to go.

He said I was very discreet.

What else do they expect when I'm not allowed out of the house?

Mancat Monday

As any good Mancat will tell you, it is important to make amends when you do something wrong. Delilah and I have a pretty good relationship but sometimes (like when I posted four times last week), you do something wrong and you have to apologize. She's been giving me the cold shoulder all weekend but with Mommy back at work, I need some Deli loving.

She's still ignoring me but she's on the same chair as I am so that must mean she wants to make up.

Any minute now I'll make my move...

Ahh yes! See? That wasn't so hard. She still loves me!

Ooops! Wait, uhh this isn't how it's supposed to go, Deli! Something's wrong here...this is going horribly wrong!

Now she's chasing me down the hall! I guess I'll try again tomorrow...

Back to Work

Delilah is not pleased with me for posting 4 times this week but I will deal with the consequences as this is a very important post!

Mommy is going back to work full-time on Monday after being home for more than 6 weeks! This week she's been working from home making phone calls. This is our last week with her here and she is trying to work. I'm making it very difficult for her because I think all the time she has left at home should be spent adoring me!

She was on the phone so I tried this cute face.

That didn't get much of a reaction and she was still speaking to the customer so I tried this one.

...and the profile.

I know what you're thinking - how could she resist me? It seems impossible to me but yet, she was still blabbing away to the customer.

Then she had the nerve to access some work online! This called for drastic measures - I planted my butt right on her mouse! Ahhhh, success...

Ohhh yeah! That's the stuff!

It should never be this hard to get attention from my Mommy but it's so much more rewarding when I finally get it. It's going to be a difficult adjustment when she goes back but as long as she remembers my chest scratches, I'll deal with it.

Have a great weekend!

Thankful Thursday

Mommy thinks she's so smart! She took some advice from Isabella, Angel and Sadie's Mom and mixed treats in our raw food and then mixed it up with some commercial food that we love so much and now we're eating raw!

I think Mommy forgets that we're cats and we rarely love something immediately.

I also wanted to post a before and after shot of my belly for my buddy Scooter. He was really concerned that the vet stole some of his furs to run tests. I just want to show him that they grow back!

Here is my belly about a month ago:

Here is my belly yesterday:

There's barely any pink left!

I'm thankful for my new food and my furs growing back to hide my 'treat belly'!

Mancat Monday

I am now a proud member of the M-Cats Club! I'm very pleased that I can hang out with some guys for a change. I love my girls but it'll be a nice change.

Mommy believes in positive affirmation and she's always telling me how wonderful I am. I suppose it works because I'm no longer shocked at my handsomeness when I see my image in a mirror. Maybe her positive affirmation is working too well?

Have a wonderful Monday!

Crazy Cleaning Lady

It's been a very long recovery for our Mommy after her surgery but she is finally starting to feel like the new woman the doctors said she would feel like. This is good news but there are some drawbacks. One of the bad things is she's going back to work in a week or so and we're very used to having her at home most of the day. But, by far the worst thing about Mommy feeling better, is her sudden maniacal desire to clean! The Ball Guy has been visiting very frequently to do things that she can't (cat litter, vacuuming, reaching high on shelves to get things, etc) and he's been really cool about it. If we're sleeping on a chair that needs to be de-furred, he waits until we wake up. Mommy, on the other hand, is so full of energy lately (more than we've ever seen) that when she wants to do something, she wants to do it NOW, even if we're busy doing something important (like snoozing) in the area she wants to clean! We want the old woman back!

Here are some examples of her crazy behavior:

Samson and I are enjoying a mid-afternoon nap in the hall when suddenly here comes Mommy with the Swiffer!! Run Sammy! We don't mind stuff on the floor, she shouldn't either!

Dust? What dust? I think you need glasses, Mommy!

That isn't cat fur on Cartman's face, he's growing a beard. Now go away and let me sleep.

The window is not dirty...umm there's a fire in the building and that's smoke. Don't worry, I'll keep an eye out and let you know if we have to evacuate. And, by the way, fur on curtains is the latest trend - I read it in Home magazine

It's getting increasingly difficult to fool her but we're going to keep trying.

Have a good weekend!
