Tortie Tuesday

Ever since Bella moved in, everyone has been very concerned that I might get a little rough with her. On one level, I'm very pleased that I'm considered tough and dangerous, but in reality, I'm a very reasonable Tortie!

Bella is half my size...literally! She's even smaller than Sweet Pea! Also, poor Bella was declawed by her previous owners and I still have all my daggers. My humans should know that I only fight fair, and after hearing what Bella went through in her previous home and then at the shelter, I have a lot of empathy for the poor girl.

After the initial couple of hisses to let her know that I'm the head cat around here, I settled down and let her explore and get to know her surroundings. I even behaved when Bella jumped up on Mommy's bed in my place to snuggle with her. Bella is the one who keeps hissing at me! I suppose that after what she has gone through she has a valid excuse, but I still think she should lighten up! This place has lots of toys and there's always food in the bowls, but the best thing is all the love we get. Surely Bella will realize this soon, but in the meantime, she's very grouchy. She even looks very similar to a famous grouch! Just look at the photos and you'll see what I mean.

Uh huh, what'd I tell ya? Right down to the big, googly eyes!

Tomorrow is Bella's 11th birthday, so let's see if we can cheer her up a bit! That girl needs to smile!

Delilah

Oh Deli, that wasn't very nice to say about your new sisfur (although our mommy chuckled). It's nice that your letting Bella get comfortable in your home though. You all are a bunch of lucky Monkeys to have such a pawesome Mommy!

ROTFL!! She does look like Oscar the Grouch, what a terrific photo of her. Priceless.

We hope she settles down soon...It'll just take her a while to realize she's safe and loved.

Lots of purrs and Light to you all!

Oh poor Bella. Maybe her new home is too good to be true. She will settle in eventually I'm sure. We hope you can make her birthday a wonderful day for her.

We think Oscar is cute - and Bella is even cuter! We love the little orange stripe on her nose. And we also love that photo of you, Deli.

We hope Bella gets used to you soon (we think she will!) It is very nice of you to let her snuggle with your Mom.

I think I'd be grouchy too if I lost my home...sat in a shelter and found myself without my momma in a strange new home. We are purring hard for Bella so she will settle down, understand she is home now and has lots of love...and toys...and food...and...and...Samson! Sigh.

Bella, you are so cute. I bet she will feel better when her hair grows out. I bet she feels funny having all her hair gone. And Deli, that is so nice of you to be patient with Bella. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Wow. The comparison is unmistakeable! Our Mommy says Oscar was always her favorite character on Sesame Street! :0) Be patient, Bella will come around, we're sure! All the lovin' in that house is bound to make her one happy Tortie!

We are so happy that Bella has come to live with y'all........sounds like she deserves a wonderful home, which we know y'all will give her.

We're proud of you, Deli!!!!! Bella's been through a lot, so it will take time for her to realize what a good home she finally has....we will be purring that it happens quickly.

We are looking forward to celebrating her birthday.

Scylla is a grumpy girl you may just have to get use to the hisses like we did.

Happy Birthday early Bella. We may not get to visit tomorrow. Our secretary has an appointment in town.

Haha! Bella does look like that grouch...a little...don't tell her we said that 'cuz it might make her more grouchie!! But she really has been through alot, and she's coming into a new home where she's never been before and she has to meet new kitties like you and Samson...so maybe you should cut her a little slack, Deli. We think a birthday party would be the purrfect thing to cheer her up!

I gotta admit - Bella does look a little like Oscar! However, that is our typical smiley face!

Mom will be in a meeting and flying back tomorrow, so Happy Birthday in advance!
