Tortie T(h)ursday

Sweet Pea here!

It has been just over a week since my spay surgery and I'm doing just fine. I feel great and active, but Daddy wants to wait the whole 10 days of recovery before he brings me back to Samson and Delilah's for a visit. I'm going on Friday.

I'm even getting used to my shaved belly furs. I am very proud to have had this surgery so that I don't contribute to kitten overpopulation, so now I wear my shaved tummy like a badge of honor!

And, I have BIG news! I know something that Samson and Delilah don't! Their Mommy is adopting a new cat and she hasn't told them yet. It's not just a cat, it's another Tortie! I have been trying to find a way to get back at Deli since she tricked me into thinking that my spay surgery was a 'surprise' at the vets, and now I have the perfect opportunity!

This new cat is 11 years old and she's a Persian mix Tortie. She is currently staying at Gerdy's Rescues and Adoptions after being given up from her home of 11 years! Delilah NEVER likes anything new (it took her many months to warm up to me and just as long to use their new water fountain), so it should be funny to see her reaction to the new kitty.

This is a photo of Bella. She looks like a real diva!

She is being delivered to Samson and Deli's house on Monday for a trial run. Their Mommy is a little worried because poor Bella is declawed (ouch!!) and, of course Samson and Delilah are not. I know from experience that Delilah may rule with an iron paw, but she never used her claws on me, so hopefully she'll cut Bella some slack, too. Besides, Bella is a Tortie, so she probably knows how to defend herself even without all her weapons.

I'm going to visit Delilah tomorrow, so I get to break the news to her! She will have to respect me now!

Sweet Pea
xoxo

Oh Sweet Pea, it is nice to see your sweet little face! It is good to hear that you'll be going home soon and that you're healing up well :) That surgery is a very good thing to have!! Purrr

Bella looks so gorgeous. I'm sad that she was released at 11 yrs of age, my sister Pricilla was released at the age of 12 so that's how she came to live with us. It is so exciting that you'll have a new sister!!! My mummy really wants to adopt a tortie at the moment but Daddy is against it... sighs...
Looking forward to Delilah's reaction :)

We're glad to hear that you are recovering so quickly, Sweet Pea!

And Bella is so pretty - we love her face! We hope it works out so she can come to live with Samson and Deli. (Tasha hates new things too, so she understands.) It is sad that her people gave her away after 11 years, though!

P.S. Our very large Rainbow Bridge mancat Fletcher sneaked out of the house once and started a fight with a very small declawed female. She ran him off promptly. The owners came and yelled at us (we don't think she should have been outside in the first place), but she definitely won the fight. He was embarassed for days!

Sweet Pea,
We love your Tortie tummy skin! You were very brave about your surgery.

We have our paws crossed that Bella fits in with Sampson and Delilah without too much fuss. How hard to be given up after 11 years! We would be devastated.

Ummmm... you realize that we're gonna have to come down there and smoochie you all now. Miss Bella is SO CUTE and added to the already intensely cute household (and extended household) we're just overwhelmed.

Sorry Sampson. You might wanna come down here to comfort the Rumblemum.

Sweet Pea, we're glad you're doing so well! Being spayed is absolutely the best thing to help control kitty overpopulation.

Poor Bella! It's wonderful Samson and Delilah's mom is adopting her, but we bet she's pretty bewildered and/or upset at being discarded after 11 years. It could take her a while to adjust. We hope Delilah isn't nasty to her, poor sweetie.

Sweet Pea, your shaved belleh is a beautiful thing! Wear it proud, beautiful!

We are so very happy that there may be a new addition to The Monkeys! We think it is so wonderful that the mom is going to rescue a kitty that is older and being given up after so long with her owners. We hope she fits right in and becomes the new family member!! We think Bella and Sweet Praline could be sisfurs!

Bless Samson and Deli's mama for giving the beautiful Bella a home....we will start purring right now that it will work out, as poor Bella deserves a wonderful home. It must be very trying for poor Bella to lose a home that she's had for 11 years!!!!

If Deli is too ugly to Bella, just send her down to us.....:))))))

It breaks our hearts that someone would give up such a sweetheart after 11 years. We are purring so hard because Bella will have a new home and we hope that Delilah will accept her. It will take some time.
