Thoughts on Thursday

August 10th was the 3rd anniversary of the death of our Mommy's beloved Muddy. She said she forgot about it this year until yesterday so she thinks that it must be getting easier. I think it's just because she has us Monkeys to see and think about every day, so it's easier to forget. Mommy said that the hurt seems to be going away but the love never fades.

She said she thinks Muddy visited her a couple of months ago when she woke up in the middle of the night to a cat head-butt and Samson and I were nowhere to be seen. Muddy, if you're visiting, wake me up too! I've got some cool toys we can play with.

This picture makes Mommy smile because it was shortly after he had been shaved so his hair is all short. He was trying to clean himself but there were just some places he couldn't reach!

She still misses you, Muddy!

Muddy's departure meant that it was not long until my arrival. Yep, my Gotcha Day is on Sunday! The Powers That Be sent me to Mommy only 6 days after he left because she was a real mess. Of course, sending a Tortie is one of the most efficient ways to get the job done right. Mommy wrote about my Gotcha Day quite recently, so I won't bore you with the details. If you want to read it, click here

We'll be celebrating my Gotcha Day on Sunday, so hopefully you can pass by!

P.S. We just found out that Bugsy from The Kitty Krew is having surgery today to remove his eye so please send purrs and good thoughts over for him!

P.P.S It is our good friend Andy's 9th birthday today! Please drop by to wish him a very happy birthday

We think it was Muddy who head-butted your momma in her sleep. Cal has a way of visiting with our mom and dad too. We know how very loved sweet Muddy was and how much he is missed. We are purring for your mom as she remembers him today!

We're sure Muddy is watching out for your mom (and you Monkeys too!) And we're very glad she found both of you.

Muddy looks like a sweet kitty. We know that had to be Muddy headbutting your Mom just to let her know he was okay.

Muddy has the sweetest little face! I know, all too well, what it's like to lose a beloved kitty. It's true, that the hurt becomes less and less as time wears on, but you can always feel the love.

I think the love is what keeps you connected -- and I wouldn't be at all surprised if Muddy came for a visit.

I'm sure it was Muddy giving head butts...telling you, "Hey mom, I'm ok". I find that I see my cat Mojo's name everywhere these days! I take that as a sign from hom too. I'll bet Mojo and Muddy are playing hard and loving life...just waiting for us.

It was DEFENITELY Muddy giving heads-butts. Scooter sends sings to our mom. She sent her a double rainbow when mom was having a real bad Scooter day. That's a post from back in July we have. Also, she could have SWORN Scooter was sitting in her favorite spot. And, our dad said it porbably was! We will be sure to stop by Sunday for celebrate your Gotchya Day! Have a GRRR-8 day today!

Muddy looks like a sweetie! Our mom says she knows how your mom feels...the pain of missing them lessens, but you never stop loving the ones that came before...our mom swears Scooter still visits her...she'll be lying in bed at night and she feels a cat walking on the bed and we are no where in sight...she's sure it's Scooter...

We can't wait to celebrate your Gotcha Day, Delilah!

Wizard has not been gone a year, but he visits often. mom will feel him jump up on the bed, but no cat is there. She and Dad will see a black tail around a corner but both of us are right in teh room with them. We know how much the memories help.

Oh that is a cute picture of Muddy - my grandma's kitty had to get shaved because he had trouble reaching spots too! We know how tough it is when you think of loved ones who are gone but you just have to think of the good times, and sharing them with people (and kitties) helps to spread the joy.

We think it was Muddy who head-butted your mommy in her sleep letting her know that he's still around and watching over all of you! We also agree that he probably sent you to your mommy to help ease her pain. Our mommy lost her cat Panther 3 years ago on August 29th and she sent us to help her a couple of months later.

We're sending purrs to your mommy! We looking forward to celebrating your Gotcha Day too Deli!

So sorry your mummy misses Muddy. Our mummy misses Deedee her squarky bird. It's been three years and she forgots about the day too. I never goes away, but with time it gets easier.

Happy gotcha day for Sunday!

Muddy looks like the bestest of cats! I'm sure you make it easier for your Mom.

PS. Deli your story made me have a talk with Mom to tell her that someday when I go, I want her to get a kitten to bring her joy.

Aw, muddy was a real cutie. We hope he is having all sorts of fun over the rainbow bridge. We stopped by to let you know we wrote a thank you post on our blog for the wonderful toy we won from you guys in June. :)

We're sure it was Muddy who came by and head-butted your mom! It had to have been. That's a cute picture of him. And she's right, the passing may get a bit easier, and "The Days" a bit easier to 'forget', but the hole in the heart never goes away. Neither does the love. Hugs to you, Muddy's Mom.

And happy almost Gotcha Day, Miss Deli! We look forward to Sunday's celebration.

And finally, thanks so much for your purrs and good thoughts for our Bugsy (and The Mommy!) on his surgery today, including the sweet mention on your post. As you know, all went well and he'll be home tomorrow! We appreciate your thoughtfulness so much, dear friends!!

Big purrs and hugs,
The Kitty Krew and The Mommy
