Samson has been preparing me all week for a vet trip for him and I tonight. Little does he know, but I've been to many vets, and I doubt this one will be any different. At 11 years old, I've been around the block a few more times than him.
Samson is under the impression that he is going to the vet to help me feel more comfortable, when in fact, he is going to go for some tests too. He has been scratching and grooming off his beautiful coat so the humans are very concerned about him.
He also told me that the Mommy creature is planning on signing the adoption papers to take over my care. I'm pretty happy about that, but I won't start celebrating until the papers are signed and it is official. Although, I won't turn down a celebratory treat in the meantime!
While I haven't always felt this way, life as a Monkey will be a pretty wonderful thing. The food and love is plentiful, and, for the most part, I get along with Samson and Delilah.
Samson is a sweet gentlemancat with wonderful manners. Once I made it clear that he was not to approach me, he was quite content to admire me from afar.
Most times Delilah lets me do my own thing, but she is a bit of a wildcard. She has a new game that is quite disturbing and frankly, very immature. She is only 4 years old, so I'm trying to cut her some slack, but sometimes I wish I had a housemate that was more my age. Delilah's game involves maneuvering the cat cube so that one of the holes is on the bottom, then she lurks in the cube and lunges, with the cube still on her, at any passersby! She doesn't discriminate because she attacks both humans and furries.
She sticks her feet out of the hole on the bottom and runs around with the cube on her. It looks like a Flintstones car for cats! She has gotten Samson and I a few times with this trick, but the only time I enjoyed watching it was when she surprised Sweet Pea and Sweet Pea nearly jumped out of her furs! Good times...
We will update you tomorrow on how our vet trip went (and hopefully have some pictures).
