I received a lot of presents for my birthday and I'm very appreciative of almost all of them. I know it's the thought that counts but I don't love one of the gifts so I'd like to take that generous 'thought' Mommy had and give it to one of my friends who might appreciate it more than me!
This is my 'snub' pose.
You might remember Mommy gave me a box with something in it...
...well it turned out to be a big plastic snake with a ball in it!
I tried to play with it for a little bit but I prefer a ball toy that can be thrown down the hall (preferably by The Ball Guy) and fetched. No matter what I do, this darn ball will not leave the snake. Mommy tried to make the snake into a circle, an 'S' and then back to the snake; it's just not my cup of catmilk.
I tried to give it to my sweet brother, Samson but...well, he's pretty particular about his toys; it's gotta be a mousie with catnip or the crinkle ball that he saved from his first Mommy's home. And, lets face it, he's a little lazy. His idea of a good time is sitting on groceries so Mommy can't put them away immediately.
Anyway, all that to say I had an idea to give it away to one of my blogging friends and hopefully help out Romeo help The Beafort Community Cat Project. Romeo is having another donate-a-thon with lots of really great prizes. This is not part of the contest and you don't need to donate to win (just like in Romeo's contest) but if you're interested in my 'gently used' ball track, leave a comment that you want to be entered into the draw and we'll do a draw on May 31st. For my friends outside the US and Canada, please feel free to enter because Mommy said she'll send it to any of my friends, regardless of their location.
Please go to Romeo's page to see the cool stuff he's offering this time and if you haven't already, please donate to the Beaufort Community Cat Project through Romeo's bloggy. They need to reach their goal and there's only 9 days left this month!
Dana, the Mommy from the Creek Cats, works at BCCP and they do a really needed job. I particularly liked this blog about some of the first feral cats they TNR'd. If you read it, you can see the Mama Tortie!
Have a wonderful weekend!

P.S. Mommy convinced me to use the term 'gently used' but I'm not comfortable with it. I'm a Tortie and nothing is ever gently used with Torties. I prefer the term 'vigorously used for a short time'

Vigorously used for a short time - that cracked us up.
That looks like a very interesting snake! Too bad you couldn't have beaten that ball out!
Great shot of Samson! Yep, I think that pizza needs to be put away ASAP!!!

Delilah, I know what you're talking about with the toy. It's not our most favouritest (?) toy either, but we do play with it now and then. Mom is contemplating what to do too. You got a great and generous idea here and we hope loads will enter the raffle.
The picture of Samson is hilarious!
Have a great weekend!

Thank you so very much for your generosity, Delilah!! That looks like a furry fun toy and I hope it makes one of your kitty friends very happy!! Thank you so much for helping out the BCCP!!! You guys rock!
Thanks so much for helping, Delilah! We hope Romeo is able to raise lots and lots of money for Beaufort Cats - they do such wonderful work.
And Tasha says she agrees that nothing a tortie owns is ever "gently" used - it's either vigorously used, or not used at all!
Delilah, you are such a nice girl to want to donate your birthday toy. I guess your mama will know better next time what you like and what you don't.
Samson looks pretty high and mighty up there sitting on the groceries. I think he's thinking "mine, all mine"!
Wow! We've got a toy something like that one...we play with ours sometimes too...most times we just try to get the ball out...
It's so generous of you to donate your "vigorously used for a short time" toy!
That snake looks pretty fun. I wonder just how intense vigorously used for a short time implies. I'm curious to find out so feel free to please enter my name into your drawing! :)
That's very generous of you, Delilah! And a great idea, also:)
Pee Ess: We went back and modified the Paw It Forward. When we read the rules, we understood that we were supposed to Paw It Forward to three friends. But...we also change rules we don't like! We think that you should be able to Paw It Forward to just one friend if you'd like. Or, play with as many as you want to! We decided to go ahead and play with two friends. Do it however you want to! Please send your address to our email. Don't worry, we're not stalkers:) Of humans, that is. Heeheehee
Hello, I saw you over at my friends the creek cats and came to say hello. You are sure lovely looking pusscats. Mum had a torty for just short of 20 years so has a soft spot for them. It is very good of you to include the uk in you draw.
The project is a brilliant cause and I hope they get their target. Mum says we will donate again as every little helps.
Hugs GJ xx
That looks like fun. We think Ivan and Illyana would play with it! If we win the drawing, we would give to them.
We are sorry you don't like your toy, but you are very generous to donate it to BCCP. Maybe you could have a new box instead.
Delilah, it's furry nice of you to giveaway your "tortie-style" used toy! We love toys like that so some kitty (or two) is going to be furry happy to receive it!
We'll be donating to BCCP but hope to have a few more sales in our shop before the time is up so we can donate even more!

Delilah--I think I'm with you on the snake. And Samson--oh my!--he sure took his place on the throne of food, huh? I LOVE it!
Hope you had a happy birthday!! We have given you an award! Don't know if you have it yet!
I think a plastic snake is better than a real snake although I sympathise with your point. FAZ
