Mancat Monday

I had a bit of an incident on Saturday that starts off a little embarrassing and humiliating, but in the end it worked out in my favor.

Mommy received a sample package of Gain laundry detergent in the mail on Friday and, when she got in the house, she put the mail and the sample in a little box that I've been trying to fit into recently.

Mommy absolutely loves the smell of that laundry detergent. She thinks it should be a perfume or something (yeah, she's a little weird). While she was asleep, I decided it would be a great time to squish myself into the small box that had the sample in it. I guess my claws must have burst open the packet and I didn't realize until I got out that my entire underbelly and paws were covered in detergent. When she woke up, she was overcome with the smell of Gain and somehow thought it must be a dream, until I jumped up onto her bed and left green, soapy paw prints all over her quilt.

Here comes the embarrassing part - when she realized I was not going to get into the bath and let her use the shower nozzle to clean off my fur, she got in with me so I wouldn't be scared! How many Mancats do you know who are forced to take a bath with their Moms? It was awful because she had to rinse a long time to get the concentrated detergent out between my toes and from all the long floof on my belly. And when the water finally stopped, she rubbed me with determined vigor with a big pink towel for what seemed like hours!

The good thing about this rather disconcerting episiode is that after the bath, my whites are even whiter and my colours did not fade! Even better than that, Mommy is snuggling me much more than ever because of my fresh, clean scent!

We're both glad that no one else was around to take pictures!

Samson

Seems like a lot of trouble to go to for some snuggles. MOL & BOL we wishes there were pictures, it sounds like a funny adventure. Except for the bath part, that part is downright scary. ~S,S,C & F

(shuddering at the thought of a bath)

I must admit that mom and I are both laughing, too! My mom has had to get in the shower with me before, too and she had the scratches to prove it.

Glogirly is still laughing. I however am mortified. I can't thank you enough for sharing this important story or rather warning. I'm going to watch my step around the laundry supplies, that's for sure. A BATH...WITH your mom...and then a PINK TOWEL!?!?

I'm just glad you're okay.

Great story Samson - and one our Mom will make sure she doesn't repeat. Some of us like the smell of laundry soap too!

Oops. Kitties should not be confused with laundry. No more playing in the detergent, okay!

You must be a very gentle boy, Samson, because if I took any of my kitties in the bathtub with me, I'd be slashed for sure! Very brave of your mama to do that for you!

Oh Samson! And you didn't claw your mom into shreds in the tub? You are a very kind cat to tolerate your mom showering with you.

Wonder how long the Gain scent will last?

Poor Samson, I'm very sorry but I could not stop laughing... Nanny is laughing so hard, she's crying too!
I bet your Mommy love your new smell.
I'm glad that I'm a black cat and hopefully Nanny will not try to wash me with laundry detergent!

Oh dear oh dear. Don't be to sure about the good part of your story. Next thing you know you have to take regular baths with your mom, because your belly is not whiter than white.

Who would have thaought that playing in a box would cause you all that trouble? I have one thing to say about the bath you had to take and that is a real mancat can tell all that he was forced to take a bath with the mom!

Samson, we're sorry but we're laughing too! It's a good thing that that no one else was around to see you in the shower with your mommy and then in a pink towel! But your whites are whiter and we're glad your colors didn't fade!

It's like our Mom's are twins! She also thinks detergent should be perfume. She wants you to come right over Samson... I'd like it too!
