I'm here to talk about the importance of keeping dangerous things off the floor when you have cats around.
I have on my stern face because this is directed at Mommy, specifically. Even though I'm posing with my favorite fishie, I can't help but be mad at her right now!
Perhaps I should go a little easier on her because she's had a migraine for the last two days, but there's no excuse for this kind of carelessness! If you biggify these photos, you'll notice a little brown pill in the background.
She only noticed the pill after she uploaded the photos a few hours later! And then she couldn't find it right away so she was very worried.
I can't speak her silly language but I tried to hint at it by posing in a way that would show her what could happen to a cat if they ate the pill (yes, I need a brushing but that is not the message I was trying to convey).
She's lucky I'm smart, but can you imagine what would happen if a less astute cat came along and thought that was a treat? I'm not naming names, but he's black and white, extremely amorous and always looking for stuff to eat.
Mommy eventually found the pill, and I think she's learned her lesson. She's still got a headache and I think I've done enough berating for today, so I'm going to go lie down with her and help the headache monster to go away with some soft purring and a claw massage.
Oh, and exciting news! We won a giveaway that our buddies The Creek Cats were hosting! Along with The Kool Kitty Krew (not to be confused with The Kitty Krew), we won some Clean and Green products! I wonder if they have something that will remind Mommy to pick up headache pills that she drops on the floor!

I bet your mom was scared. You shouldn't scare your mom like that.
Oh, my goodness! I'm sure glad you didn't eat that little treat!
Yep, that's a very good thing to talk about! And you hafta be careful what you leave laying on counters too! When Wally was younger, mom left a plastic bag with a few strong headache pills in it on the counter. Well, Wally loves chewing on plastic...and when mom wasn't looking he jumped up there and stole the bag with the pills and took it and chewed it up...along with some of the pills! Imagine mom's horror when she found the chewed up bag and pills! Off to the emergency v-e-t!! Fortunately, Wally didn't eat much of the pills and he was okay...but mom learned an important lesson that day....
We're glad you were smart enough not to eat that pill....

That wouldn't have been a very nommy treat. Our mom always freaks out when she drops medicines on the floor.... she yells, "Don't move!" Then tears the kitchen apart until she finds it. She is silly! Glad your mom found it and hopes her migraine eases very soon. Our mom says they are no fun at all!
Yup! Some kitties are like little two-year olds who will put anything in their mouths. I'm glad you're not like that Delilah, but it sounds like Samson is. You were such a good girl trying to alert your mama.
We sure hope your mom is feeling better sometime soon. Migraines are definitely monsters as you say, so vamp up all your healing purrs and lay them on!
Yes our the mom freaks too when she drops those things. A v-e-t once told her a horrible story about a woofie dat ate a WHOLE bottle of motrin. Poor woofie was fighting for his life acuz it causes major kidney problems in furrys the v-e-t said. We dun know how the woofie is but we is sure dat when the mom says STAY AWAY we do it. Yoo is furry smart to not eat dat yucky bean pill!!
That would have scared my mom too. Good thing you helped alert her!
Yep--Tommy has a cow too when she drops a pill to. If it doesn't smell like chicken we ain't even coming close! Glad Samson didn't munch it and that your Mom found it. Don't be hard on her. She's human--and well, we need to be kind to them. They feed us.:)
That is a very impawtant thing that you have been talking about. I wouldn't eat things I shouldn't, but Eric snarfs everything down that he sees.

Mommy has done that before and had some very bad moments until she managed to find the pill. Luckily we mostly just bat stuff around that we find on the floor, but you never know with us . . .
Thank goodness you found that little pill. We probably would have just whacked it around the kitchen, like we were playing hockey. And, a big congrats to you as well for winning the contest. We were surely surprised!
We's very happy that neither you nor Samson eated the pill. We always have to try and go sniff at anything The Mommy drops but she always freaks and yells "no!" at us if it's bean stuff. Geesh, we just wanna sniff it and maybe bat it around some.
Hope your mommy feels better soon, The Mommy gets migraines too and they're No Fun.
Purrs and hugs,
The Kitty Krew
PS - Callie says to tell you that she'll go with you to help Tasha at Mishkat's play tortie watchcat against the vishus deer!
Dear Delilah,
I'm sure that your mommy learned a lesson, but humans make mistakes all the time. I hope that your mommy will get better!!! Nanny had a terrible migraine too last week! You're smart and knew not to eat the pill...
Have a great day!
Loki
That is a very good lesson Delilah and we're glad that neither you not the amorous (and handsome) black and white cat didn't eat that pill. I'm sure you scared your mommy and she won't drop any more headache pills again. We hope your purring helped her headache get better!
Thanks so much for warning everyone, Delilah. Our mom is careful about that (she even picks things up off the floor that we might want - like cheese!), but it's always good to have a reminder.
P.S. our mom says she hopes your mom feels better soon. She has had a sinus headache for the past few days and it's been awful - but definitely not as bad as a migraine!
You are very lucky that you found it instead of Samson. I am sure your mom was worried and scared. But those migraines are so bad. WE hope she is feeling better!
Mom found a pretty orange pill in the floor of a restaurant. It looked like candy. She worried that some little kid would think it was candy eat it. So Mom picked it up in a napkin and threw it away.
P.S. Tasha says you and the other torties are welcome over any time! We are sure that a gang of torties will scare away any old deer that happen to be around.
Opps! Gotta watch those weird treats, only eat the ones that
smell like chicken!
Nice to meet you :)
What a beautiful Tortie you are
Delilah. We love torties too ♥
Oh, dear! We know your mommy didn't mean to drop the pill! Whimpurr has done the same thing before! So glad that it was later found and everyone is OK! *purrs*
I would think a plain old pill wouldn't smell good and so I wouldn't eat it. I always sniff before I eat. Gosh, if it was that easy, Mom would just toss my pills on the floor and I'd eat them. Never happen, not in a million years. Now I don't know about Samson, but Mom sure wouldn't have to worry about me and that pill.
I think your Mommy was not happy ;)
Purss Kareltje =^.^=
That is definately a stern look on your face ! I bet your mommy won't forget that look in a hurry!
That was a little bit of a Tattletale Tuesday, too, Delilah!
Something very askeery like that happened to one of Mom's very good friends, Feather's Daddy Mike. He also has 3 woofies. Anyway, Mike was injured in Iraq very badly 4 years ago and has to take all kinds of serious meds. He dropped his sleeping pill once without knowing it, until he saw his Papillon, Baby Girl swallow it. It took a lot of dollars to get her through that.
Dear me! That is dangerous.... All mommies would do well to read this post! My mom sometimes drops aspirin!
You looked very stern! Cut her a tiny amount of slack.
My mom tagged your mom in tomorrow's post if she wants when she is feeling better.
Oh Delilah you are so good for not trying to eat it. But I have to say that I can sympathize with your mom because I had terrible headaches on Monday and Tuesday too. But I am sure that she has learned her lesson and will not do it again.
We made our Dad read this post because he is guilty of the same thing. You are a very good spokescat, Deli.
